Montgomery County police responded to the third assault reported in a month at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda this past Friday night, March 29, 2024. A 2nd-degree assault was reported at the popular retail center at 8:30 PM Friday. Two other March assaults were reported at the mall, on March 1, and March 21.
The violent crime pace at the mall continues to increase in 2024, with four assaults in the first three months of the year. Only five assaults were reported in all of 2023 at the mall, which was a great improvement over the twelve that took place on the mall property in 2022. An armed robbery was also reported at the mall on March 25.

Montgomery Mall has become too dangerous for even 7/11.
Where are the assaulters coming from? Chevy Chase Village? PG County? Potomac?

So regarding the comment about the police presence at the mall, I never see any and I’m up there just about every day. There is a resource room outside where Uber and Lyft passengers are picked up, but it’s always locked and there’s never anyone in there.

JAC wants to know the assaulter's name, employment and housing status, what ethnicity their name is, whether they've accepted the Lord Jesus Christ as their Personal Savior, whether they were born in Bethesda, their credit score, so he can determine whether to be outraged, or chalk it up to a white kid's teenage hijinx.

The mall appears to be a teenager location of choice for highschool fights.

There was a traveling carnival in the mall parking lot and it was a bit overcrowded.
