PopUp Bagels has postponed its opening at 7607 Old Georgetown Road in Bethesda once again, this time to August 14, 2026. But I have a sneak peek for you right now, of the celebrity photo wall inside. How many famous faces can you recognize? And which local celebrities might be added once it opens?

What's the bigger reason never to go here, the celebrity wall or the fact that your one bagel costs $15 because you're alone and don't want/need to buy 3 but are forced to because your can't just buy one bagel?
Bit pricy. I knew about the 3 bagel thing, but didn't realize it would be $15! Is that for 3 normal sized bagels at least?

Are you referring to the Anthony's Pizza in Bethesda that has been closed? If so, not you actually cannot.
Here's an idea- perhaps, instead of complaining about businesses who are investing in Bethesda, maybe just let them open and operate before adding your moronic comments about price, or parking, or their wall art or the Epstein Island (really?!). Just ridiculous comments. Here's a prediction...they'll do fine without your business.
In a saturated market, this is probably the fastest growing bagel chain in the US over the past 25-30 years. They have been successful everywhere they go (I don't think they have closed any of their 30 stores to date for underperformance). Go have a look on Sat/Sun morning at their Georgetown location that just opened...lines around the block for hours. If they don't succeed in Bethesda, it's frankly an indictment on Bethesda, not Popup. They are the ones that have the proven track record.
Personally, not a fan of CYM's bagel (way too similar to bread than a bagel), but recognize they have their fans and I wish them well and hope they have a long run here. It's nice that Bethesda Bagels, that has been operating with no alternatives for so long, finally has some competition. Bethesda, especially north of Old Georgetown, needs more food options- hope they each can find their crowds.
As much as I disagree with 10:57's "they'll do fine without your business" attitude the market generally always decides and I wish them well. The rents and regulations in this county make it really difficult which is why corporate tenants have a better shot.
I think you hit the nail on the head with your comment that it’s Bethesda not the businesses. It’s totally different -people wise than many years ago.
