Great! I used to drive out of my way to to go the one by Little Falls library. This will be more convenient for me. He has great stuff, especially the tomatoes and corn. A lot of it comes from Amish farmers in PA.

Great news. That store will never, ever find a tenant. Landlord must be getting killed.

6:05AM, I wonder. If the land is appreciating more than the RE taxes each year, it might not be so bad.

Glad to see Norman's there.

@6:39 It's complicated. THe building is historic so it can't be modified basically. That makes it unsuitable for most tenants.

Seems to me it would do well with some kind of convenience store or deli offering, given all the NIH workers directly across the street.

Perfect spot for a bank.

Bob's Building & Loan.

@7:01 That's partially correct. It is historic however an approved addition for the building is in place but no one has moved forward obviously. It's for lease or sale but the price I understand is way too high. NIH wouldn't be a boon for any store or deli. They are only there until about 3 and getting back and forth to campus is a real pain. Every evening and every holiday and weekend they wouldn't be there and business would suck. They could move the building but where? Some little town in Rhode Island should buy it and put it on a truck.

Too small for a movie theatre?

Maybe they could build one like what American City Diner had. I actually watched twice as many movies there than I did at the Regal.

Maybe move Hank Dietle's there? It's far enough away from houses that the neighbors won't complain about the noise.

11:19 That's actually a really good idea..

Hey Dyer! Villian and Saint closes tonight for good. And are the rumors about Mussel Bar closing in August true?

Villain and Saint got shafted. Any building with any old school charm or age gets torn down. That entire two block stretch is getting the bulldozer. Sucks.

Wow Villain and Saint gone for good? Well that's the 2nd or third place there in the last few years not to work out. And the former Haven/PI pizzeria is still empty right?

Mussel Bar just announced a new summer outdoor grill menu, without any mussels on the list. So maybe that's a last-ditch attempt to get more customers.

Both owned by the same local company -- guess Wiedemaier lost his magic touch?

Not gone for good but they will be closed sooner than later due to redevelopment. That entire block and a half stretch is going.
