The signage at the Landmark Bethesda Row Cinema was either glitching last night, or someone was attempting to communicate with us from the great beyond. Instead of movie titles on the electronic marquee above the entrance, there was a distorted barrage of pixels. The clock and arrow sign out on Woodmont Avenue was dark.

How do they get around the ordinance prohibiting "moving" signage? Has it been cast aside? It's tacky to have flashing or moving signage. It used to be that even rotating barber poles weren't allowed. Our fire department even 'waters down' the statute. Very Third World tacky.
