Z-Burger Bethesda construction update (Photos)

Z-Burger
is in the final stretch of construction at 4827 Fairmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda. Just about everything is in place, from booth seating and light fixtures, to the soda fountain and counter. There will probably be some tables or a bar added on the left side of the dining area, and I don't see any menu boards or screens at the counter yet. It's a very small space, but it's the quality of the food that counts.

Robert,
It is the quality of the food that counts. Sadly, I'm not aware that Z-Burger offers that.
There are a few locations around but is it on par with Shake Shack, Five Guys, or even Tastee across the street that grills up a pretty darn good burger? I have my doubts. This would have been a great place for a nostalgia play. Bringing a Little Tavern type concept would crush it especially staying open late towards the end of the week and on weekends. Believe me, that would make a ton of money done right with an updated twist on that great establishment.

@JAC, if you believe it is such a great idea, why don't you do it yourself?

Took advantage of a 2 for 1 coupon a while back and even then was so disappointed I never tried a 2d time.

You either invest in everything you feel is a good idea, or you're lashing out because you can't dispute JAC's earlier posts. Which one is it?

12:09 - I don't think it's a good idea, I know it's a good idea. So, just because I have an idea for a great burger spot means I have to open it? Huh?

@3:44 - No, good ideas do not equal good returns - or any returns at all. If all "good" ideas made money, we would all be rich and not trolling a blog about Bethesda. Yes, I guess I am lashing out because it is easy to talk about what can or cannot do well without putting in time, effort, and money. It is fairly disrespectful to all those that do put in the above because you can just sit behind a monitor and cut actual businesses down.

@JAC - Not at all, you are entitled to your opinion. I just do not have the confidence to make broad assumptions without ever opening a burger spot in Downtown Bethesda. I must only go with the assumption that you have opened or invested in at least one successful burger spot in Downtown Bethesda and you know what it takes for it to be successful. I for one would be wary of a concept that closed its last location in 2008 and its Bethesda location is now a Chinese takeout restaurant. It would be great if someone, especially someone that knows good ideas, would prove how right they are. I am not saying it has to be you, but as the old cliche goes, "talk is cheap."

8:03 - Saying that a certain type of burger joint would do well is disrespectful to those who run existing burger joints? What the??? So, an opinion then shows disrespect? All of the stuff that you're saying is incredibly odd. Talk is cheap, etc. This is a local blog site and people comment on the posts that the blogger puts up. If the blogger posted about a new stereo shop and I commented that Circuit City would do well, it doesn't mean that I'm going to open a Circuit City location in Rockville. So, I'm saying a place like Little Tavern would do very well. That's my opinion and may even be an educated one. My opinion also, based on trying it, which was shared by another here, is that Z-Burger, is not that good at all. There's no need to lash out as you said above. We're just posting. Either agree, disagree, offer something else, or move on.

Elevation Burger would do well in Bethesda, though it needs a bigger location.
