Silver and Sons BBQ, Oak Barrel & Vine "coming soon" to Westbard Square in Bethesda

"Coming soon" signage has been posted in the storefronts of two future tenants of the new Westbard Square development at 5400 Westbard Avenue in Bethesda. Silver & Sons Barbecue is the new bricks-and-mortar venture of chef Jarrad Silver, a veteran of the Neighborhood Restaurant Group who has found success with his initial Silver & Sons food truck operation. Oak Barrel & Vine is the new concept employed by Montgomery County to make its government liquor sales operation look more like a private business. It replaces the old Montgomery County liquor store that recently closed at the Westwood Shopping Center, which will soon be demolished to make room for the next phase of Westbard Square construction.

I have heard about these BBQ guys. This could be a great addition indeed. I am not aware of a legit BBQ place anywhere in the immediate area. Well, there's Mission which is now a big chain and hit or miss. Now, onto the absurd county liquor store window dressing. So, they are now going to disguise their county package store as a private business? Our tax dollars are going to this genius idea? This is crazy. Here's an idea, get out of the beer, wine and spirits business altogether and fix the roads, improve crime, and try to end the race to the bottom moribund business climate here.

For Silver and Sons, coming soon is relative. Their email I received this morning said "expected move-in sometime 4th quarter of 2024”...

But Silver and Sons have their food truck often parked down by the old Capital One stand-alone ATM building at the far end of the old shopping center. This week, April 8-14, it will be there these days:

Anyone remember the Hard Times BBQ, I watched G. Mason B-ball championship game there a few years ago. Not sure what year that would have been.

Try Sloppy Mama's BBQ in Arlington. In addition to great BBQ, they have one of the best burgers around!

Thank you very much, but no running water, no eating the food. Simple.

@11:24 - All food trucks in Montgomery County MD have running water systems. Hand washing water is 100 degrees F. Look it up. Be curious, not judgmental...

Momo - Hard Times was Chili not BBQ.

Oh yeah, *wink-wink* maybe these guys will.

10:52 you are correct. My memory is a little hazy at this stage of my life.
