The sign in the window of Uptown Deli on Norfolk Avenue says it all.
That's right - no bagels, Challah or steak sandwiches for a month!
Uptown Deli is closed - starting today - for renovations, and will reopen on Saturday, September 15, 2012.
With 2 delis already having closed in the last year, options are dwindling in downtown Bethesda for those seeking classic deli offerings.
Where will you go for bagels, etc. in Bethesda while Uptown is closed? Or do you already have a favorite alternative?

It's not in the heart of downtown Bethesda, but Georgetown Bagelry on River Road is the best in the DC area by far!
Great choice! Georgetown Bagelry is a short drive away from downtown. Or a reward after a hike, run or bike ride from Bethesda Row to River Road on the Capital Crescent Trail.
What about Bethesda Bagels. Without a doubt, BEST bagels around!
Very popular, and the bagel place I hear people rave about even when I'm not in Bethesda. A DC area favorite.
