Pines of Rome installs signage at new location (Photos)

The permanent signs were installed at the future home of Pines of Rome at 4918 Cordell Avenue on Friday. Pines of Rome is scheduled to close temporarily this Sunday, and then reopen on Cordell in October. Its longtime Hampden Lane location will be redeveloped by Douglas Development.

What the hell is up with that signage? It looks like crap with the one missing wall sconce, the tiny non-illuminated letters to the upper left and lower right. I pledge to boycott this place purely on the basis of its poor typographical design. Who ever designed this signage should be tarred and feathered. I guess it does sort of match the crappy retail facade, so I guess it is contextual.

Looking forward to this!

@5:53 It reminds me of signs in a strip mall in Gaithersburg. Just the type of non-innovation that PoR's typical clients have come to expect.

When was the last time their menu changed? The Carter administration?
