One of the most unique pizzerias in downtown Bethesda will be leaving one of the most unique restaurant buildings in downtown Bethesda this summer. M&N's Pizza, currently located at 7750 Old Georgetown Road, is planning to move to 4914 Del Ray Avenue. The owner says they haven't finalized their exact moving date yet, but it should be approximately three weeks from now.
Yesterday morning, a crew installed a lighted sign at the new M&N's location on Del Ray. By nightfall, it was already lit up. You may recall this was most-recently home to a short-lived Paisano's Pizza restaurant. M&N's has a strong 4-and-a-half-star rating on Yelp, so they should fare better here.
What makes M&N's unique is their menu. They have an extensive lineup of what they call "Whacky Pizzas," which include several Asian pizzas, many Indian pizzas, a Mexican one and even one called the "Crazy Pizza," which also has some Indian flavors among its toppings. They also have Indian entrees such as curries and samosas, burgers (including the vegan Impossible Burger), gyros, pasta, subs, calzones, and a dessert menu.

Why are your photos of local businesses always taken when they are closed?
7:25: If you actually read the article, you would know the new location won't be opening for a few weeks yet. And you would know it was newsworthy that the new sign was operational after dark last night, Einstein.
I often differ with Robert on our opinions, but in this case his posting makes perfect sense. It does seem odd that M&N would leave that iconic location for an anonymous storefront on Norfolk. Better pedestrian exposure and perhaps a lower rent, but that round brick building with the slate roof on Old Georgetown sure was the perfect building for a pizza restaurant.
Any word on what might move in, or is this site slated for more development as part of a larger project on Old Georgetown Road? I seem to recall some chatter about and expansion of the adjacent brick office buildings now that zoning allows more density. I’m not sure how old the round brick building is, but I would much prefer it to be preserved over the nasty old Farm Woman’s Market Building, or the unrecognizable Hardware Store that was recently moved.
I still hope they let the developer repurpose the FWM to be a more interesting use, like a food hall. I read that the historic review committee (?) is now suggesting that the building should not be moved and re-sited, or that parking could be added below the building, or that the gravel parking lot around the building should be turned into a nice plaza area, or the two level retail building to the east should be allowed. They also suggested that the new 17 story mixed-use tower should be scaled to somehow be respectful of the massing of a nasty one-story hip roof structure. They did suggest that the old building could be expanded with an outdoor dining area on the rear. I hope these rulings do not kill a good project and the revitalization of this area in the name of historical preservation.
Should someone tell 12:45pm that this M&N location hasn't opened yet, or should I?
Notice how "Tom Andrews" never comments on the actual subject of any article - he only responds to critical comments from others.
The benefit to the new location is parking is much easier.
Hopefully they correct the cigar smoke that finds it way in from the shop next door. We got carryout once from Paisano's and the stench was unbearable.
Like I said last time
"If "Tom Andrews" is so concerned about manners and decorum, you'd think he/she would have an issue with Dyer's name-calling ("moron") and bullying ("You just made a fool of yourself again")"
At which point you ("Tom")said:
"You are bat shit crazy."
And that brings us to today...Keep singling me out. Because THAT doesn't make you look stalkerish. No, not at all.
If you aren't Robert Dyer, then you are his "spokesman," "mouthpiece," "shill." Keeping watch over this blog, day and night...ready to pounce at a moment's notice, with a suitcase full of identities.
