The latest property to be redeveloped in downtown Bethesda will be 8001 Wisconsin Avenue. It is currently home to a two-story brick office building, with tenants that include a Citibank branch, BCC Beauty Salon & Spa, Divine Smiles Dentistry, TDEC, and Financial Communications, Inc. The property owner is proposing up to 375,000 SF of residential housing and ground floor retail/restaurant space.
8001 Wisconsin is bordered by a beer and wine store to the north, and a single-family home currently serving a business use behind it. The corner property also has a small public plaza.
A required pre-submission public meeting on the proposal has been scheduled for Wednesday, February 26, 2020 at 7:30 PM in the 1st Floor community room at 7501 Wisconsin Avenue (the Chevy Chase Trust building).
