Popeyes has been closed in recent days in the Dining Terrace food court at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. Yesterday, it was indeed closed during normal operating hours, as seen here. Popeyes has closed for short periods in the past, only to reopen for business.
One reader reports that the owner has retired, and that this closure is for good; Google is also stating that this Popeyes is "permanently closed." What's certain is that Montgomery County is in desperate need of a Popeyes with a drive-thru.

I wouldn't recommend a return to drive-thru restaurants. With apps these days I think curbside pickup is more efficient.
If Popeye has retired, could Olive Oyl run the place instead?
Southern Montgomery County and NW DC are Burger King, Wendy’s, KFC, Taco Bell and Roy Rogers deserts. Soon to be a Popeye’s desert?
I noticed that the other day. Hopefully it is because that may be one of the most unhealthy menus in America. That said, the food court is a shame. There are now very close to half a dozen places vacant. There are a few very good options still there but more interesting fare is in great need no doubt.
11:17 There are Popeyes in Silver Spring, Wheaton-Glenmont, and North Bethesda (Rockville). There's Wendy's and KFC-Taco Bell in Wheaton.
@1:00 - Has got to be the biggest whiner in the county. Not happy, LEAVE!
7:20 - Help us all understand your post here. So, commenting about Popeyes closure and hoping it's permanent, because it's extremely unhealthy food equals whining? And that that's grounds for leaving the county? Huh?
I will order a lot from here. When it reopens.
