Masked men casing vehicles in Massachusetts Avenue corridor of Bethesda
A group of men wearing masks has been seen testing door handles on vehicles in neighborhoods along Massachusetts Avenue in Bethesda, according to Montgomery County police. At least one theft has been reported, in the 5300 block of Albemarle Street in Westmoreland Hills. Two of the masked suspects were observed entering a vehicle there, and removing items from the interior. Be sure to lock your vehicle and remove any visible items from the interior.

Happens weekly in Battery Park. Catch them on security cameras checking car doors. Probably a good thing that neighbors don't own Chargers or Challengers as there would be a plague of carjackings and thefts.
And all of them do not live anywhere near there. Get ready for the PL.
There's nothing illegal about pulling on door handles, the popo will tell you, but it really does satisfy the elements of Criminal Assault, imho.
Those masked "men" belong in cages.
Are you insane
Hmmm, if they can get 'traction' out of 'microaggressions,' then the up-to-no-good act of pulling car door handles as being part of your 'home' and even possibly occupied by the owner might could constitute a reasonable expectation of danger especially to the weaker sort of citizen, I could see sensing an assault.
Are you suggesting that the Purple Line will appeal to masked men? You realize that these light rail vehicles and stations all have high resolution security cameras. So with any crime committed in the area, the police will surely check the high resolution images to help time locate and identify any individuals. Criminals are not the smartest folks, but I suspect they won’t use the Purple Line as a getaway vehicle.
Maybe, just maybe, more folks will use the Purple Line to access better jobs, a better education or access more affordable housing. Maybe the restaurants, cafes and retail of Bethesda will see more customers from out of the area. Maybe when the Red Line is down for repairs, Bethesdians will use the Purple Line to access their jobs, schools, healthcare, sporting events and other services.
So yes, let’s get ready for the PL.
It is absolutely illegal to pull on handles of cars that aren’t yours and also homes. If someone pulls on my unlocked door handle and enters, I have castle doctrine.
7:55 is nothing but a paid shill on the council payroll to push their narrative. When it doesn't pan out, they will have moved on to the next liberal vanity project. Give it a rest and take responsibility for all the chaos those in charge have caused for people that actually pay the freight in this county. Unfortunately, this will never happen as these progressives never accept the consequences of their own policies.
7:55 the NIMBY's are really REALLY up in their feelings about the purple line. It's very weird.
12:19 what would the charge be? Can you (anyone?) really imagine anyone being charged ? I won't even ask about 'prosecuted.' Heck, our worthless local judiciary let's exponentially worse criminals walk. Get real.
What's weird is that a admitted grifter, (8:59), wants to dictate how people should feel about a 10B dollar project that will do nothing except funnel criminals at taxpayer expense into Bethesda.
@7:55 What's the point in having cameras if those in charge won't enforce existing laws? Rhetorical question actually because the response is one of wishful thinking. Try reading your response back to yourself before posting as "suspecting" they won't use it as a getaway is comical on its face. Funneling into is the key here and take your pick for the drive home as the left hates & over-regulates self-defense so when those seconds matter, help is minutes away.
1:40PM So you don’t believe that having a good public transit system is for society? Yes, yes and yes, it is wildly disruptive, terrible expensive and takes way too long to get entitled, bid and construction. I still believe this project is worth the effort. Once again, try to imagine the DMV with out the Metro. It was also extremely disruptive to build, very very expensive, and took decades to build. Bu I would argue that the DMV is much better than it would have been with endless freeways, and downtown filled with surface parking lots and parking structures. Try to imagine the traffic jam of 800,000 cars driving to and from downtown and parking there everyday. The PL is of course a different scale but might help solve many the areas problems of cross town access to jobs, housing and education.
@11:10 So tired of the same BS rhetoric from the paid council shill. Why don't you guys try to clean up at least one of the messes you've created? Try to imagine a world where written laws are enforced and public safety is a higher priority that shielding illegals from ANY prosecution. A neighbor was hit in a traffic accident a few weeks ago by an illegal. Apparently they are the only ones allowed to drive on Maryland roads without insurance because if a citizen does it, there is a very high punitive daily fine. You and the people you work for are the problem.
I'm gonna rig some trap cars in that area so when trifling scofflaws pull those handles all the voltage from the battery (ies) will fry them like Old Sparky at that infamous prison!!
12:25. Another privileged whiner, these migrants have insurance that doesn't effect your basic costs, that's what uninsured motorist premiums pay for.
It sounds like the Lone Ranger and Tonto gone awry.
@3:51 So uninformed as they've essentially put it upon citizens to carry uninsured motorist coverage. IF that illegal does carry insurance, it is a taxpayer funded entitlement called MAIF which is usually the insurer of last resort but now a benefit for Illegals. Guess you've never had to deal with them in any kind of dispute as they have a staff of taxpayer funded attorneys to fight ANY claim so you end up using your own insurance or pay out of pocket so rates don't rise. Get back to the real world world sometime soon.
