CALYPSO ST. BARTH READY FOR FRIDAY GRAND OPENING AT BETHESDA ROW (PHOTOS)

The window displays are in place, the merchandise is racked, and Calypso St. Barth is ready to welcome customers at 4810 Bethesda Avenue tomorrow, August 1. Friday's grand opening kicks off a weekend-long celebration at the resort wear boutique's new Bethesda Row location. New arrivals would never imagine this shop was previously a Dunkin' Donuts.

The lighted sign is up at Calypso St. Barth, which is scheduled to open July 31 on Bethesda Avenue. An upscale resortwear boutique, it replaces Dunkin' Donuts, which will reopen this fall over on Elm Street.

CALYPSO ST. BARTH OPENING WEEKEND PLANNED AT BETHESDA ROW

We already heard that Calypso St. Barth is planning to open its new Bethesda Avenue boutique on July 31, and saw some of their pieces in The Front Row at Bethesda Row fashion show. Now, Federal Realty is announcing a weekend-long grand opening celebration event at the brand-new Calypso, on August 1-3. Stay tuned for more details.

It's no secret that Calypso St. Barth is replacing Dunkin' Donuts on Bethesda Avenue, but the company has now posted Coming Soon signage in the former donut shop's windows. Bethesda Row's newest upscale boutique, Calypso St. Barth will bring its upscale travel and leisure apparel and accessories, but not the chain's furnishings and housewares.

Dunkin' Donuts will reopen in a new Elm Street location this fall.

A donut shop is being transformed into an exclusive boutique on Bethesda Avenue. Calypso St. Barth, an upscale travel apparel chain, is in the process of taking over the just-closed Dunkin' Donuts at Bethesda Row. Here you can see some of work going on to clear out the old, in preparation for building the new. The Dunkin' Donuts will reopen on Elm Street this fall, and the latest rumor I'm hearing is that it could go into the current dry cleaners space there. A former Kraze Burgers at the corner of Woodmont and Elm is also available for lease.

CALYPSO ST. BARTH TO OPEN AT BETHESDA ROW JULY 31

The new Bethesda Row location of Calypso St. Barth will open July 31, as reported by Adele Chapin of Racked DC. Chapin also learned that the Bethesda location will not carry the brand's furniture line, just the apparel. The Bethesda Avenue space is currently occupied by Dunkin' Donuts.

Calypso St. Barth, the upscale women's resortwear and furniture boutique, is coming to Bethesda Row. The store will open in the current Dunkin' Donuts space at 4810 Bethesda Avenue. Dunkin' Donuts was already expected to leave Bethesda Row this summer, when its lease ends. The only question was, what will take its place? And now you know.

The chain just opened a Georgetown location in the District two months ago. Calypso St. Barth features its own line of apparel, as well as select pieces from other high-end brands. True to its name, Calypso St. Barth did begin its life with a boutique in... Calypso St. Barth.

Sophisticated yet casual, Calypso St. Barth's upscale take on boho vagabond style evokes the romance of travel and island escapes - aspirational selling points for those who may not necessarily be able to afford such international adventures.

You can still wear the clothes, and outfit your living space, when they open at Bethesda Row. That includes art, lighting, and even notebooks.
