Dunkin' Donuts offers Tailgater breakfast sandwich for football season in Bethesda (Photos)

Dunkin' Donuts is greeting football season with a limited-time Tailgater Breakfast Sandwich. Available all day, the Tailgater features a split smoked sausage, egg, reduced fat cheddar cheese, fire-roasted peppers, grilled onion mix, and Ancho-Chipotle sauce on an oven-toasted French roll.

The sandwich sells for $4.29, and went on sale yesterday for the first time.

There are 3 Dunkin' Donuts locations in downtown Bethesda (and a fourth, if you work at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center): 4943 Elm Street, 7500 Old Georgetown Road (in the Clark Building near the Metro station bus bays), and 4905 Cordell Avenue.

DUNKIN' DONUTS/BASKIN ROBBINS INSTALLS NEW SIGN IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

Dunkin' Donuts will now be easier to spot by people less familiar with Bethesda than those of you who read this blog. In addition to the signage on the facade and over the patio entrance, a new sign now faces drivers and pedestrians passing by on Cordell Avenue. The sign joins the new tree screen around the patio transformer, as a recent addition to the exterior of the donuts-coffee-and-ice-cream shop.

CORDELL AVE. TRANSFORMER GETS TRANSFORMED IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

Is this the earliest Christmas tree lot in Bethesda history? Passersby can't be blamed for momentarily being in the holiday spirit.

The transformer that some found an awkward occupant of the patio, at the new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins on Cordell Avenue, is awkward no more. Now it's behind a wall of trees, which have been placed around it as a screen.

It can truly be said that "you can't see the transformer for the trees" in Bethesda. Somebody get Michael Bay on the phone - preferably a Samsung phone.

You're invited to a grand opening event this Saturday, April 12, at the new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins store at 4905 Cordell Avenue. The family-friendly celebration will include specials and store products, face painting, a clown, clowns, a balloonist, and a live broadcast by DC 101.

Be one of the first 100 people in line, and you'll get a Dunkin' Donuts gift card that will entitle you to a free coffee weekly for a year. And they will be raffling off more gift cards, and an iPad Mini, throughout the event.

The event will be from 10:00 AM to 1:00 PM this Saturday. A ribbon cutting is being held at 10:00 AM this morning (right now).

Now, here are some photos from the new store, which is now open:

DUNKIN' DONUTS/BASKIN-ROBBINS OPENS ON CORDELL AVENUE IN BETHESDA (PHOTO)

A third downtown Bethesda Dunkin' Donuts opened Saturday, in the Norfolk-Cordell II building at Norfolk and Cordell Avenues. This store also includes a Baskin-Robbins ice cream parlor. One of the 3 existing Dunkin' Donuts shops, the original Bethesda Row location, is expected to close this summer. Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins is the last of the initial tenants of the Steven Karr-designed building to open.

SNEAK PEEK INSIDE NEW BETHESDA DUNKIN' DONUTS/BASKIN ROBBINS ICE CREAM (PHOTOS)

Bethesda's newest Dunkin' Donuts store - which also features a Baskin Robbins ice cream parlor - could open as early as Friday, in the Norfolk-Cordell II building at the corner of Norfolk and Cordell Avenues. It's around the corner from where Smashburger fronts onto Norfolk Avenue.

When you enter the doors, Dunkin' Donuts is straight ahead, and Baskin Robbins is to the side.

DUNKIN' DONUTS MAY OPEN FRIDAY ON CORDELL AVE. IN BETHESDA (PHOTO)

The sign was lit last night at the new Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins on Cordell Avenue. I've received word that the store hopes to open Friday, if all goes according to plan. It is located in the Norfolk-Cordell II building, around the corner from Smashburger.

SIGNS INSTALLED AT DUNKIN' DONUTS/BASKIN ROBBINS ON CORDELL IN BETHESDA (PHOTOS)

The lighted signs are up at the future Dunkin' Donuts/Baskin Robbins store on Cordell Avenue. As expected, the new gateway to the front patio of the store is indeed the perfect place to install the signage. Work continues inside for what may be the ultimate carbohydrate destination in town.

NEW CORDELL AVE. DUNKIN' DONUTS ADDING OUTDOOR PATIO? (PHOTOS)

The second Dunkin' Donuts to open this year in downtown Bethesda, in the Norfolk-Cordell II building on Cordell Avenue, appears to be adding an outdoor patio of some kind. A space between the public sidewalk and the storefront is being defined by installation of new exterior design elements. Signage could also potentially be installed on this outer property line, above the entryway.

This Dunkin' Donuts will also include a Baskin Robbins ice cream store. Should a patio be added, it would help Baskin Robbins compete with other dessert shops like Haagen-Dazs and Dolcezza, which have pedestrian areas outside their doors, beyond the minimal sidewalk space many businesses are limited to. There is utility equipment installed in the area outside, so it is currently unclear what the final design of this outdoor space will be.
