Even more overpriced than Wing Hub. Great!
Wow...anonymous is right. Their reuben sandwich is about twice the cost of one down the street at Cafe X press Bethesda NY Deli!
Must be one helluva pickle at Heckman's!
way way over priced. take a look at how long BF&B has been around and the quality of their sandwhiches and msot of all their prioces.
I don't get why these poeple come to bethesda with their high priced sandshiches etc and wonder why they are gone within a year or two.
For those prices I expect to be served by a topless Jewish Bethesda MILF!
@8:30AM- Well, they are hiring a bartender, so there's hope
With no disrespect to other sandwich shops; the triangle has no competition. Is it more expensive? yes. Is it worth every penny? without question....the pastrami is thick cut, succulent, and brimming with flavor. The matzo ball soup is amazing, fluffy matzoh balls with a delicious broth. And, by the way, the portions are very generous....having seen the triangle transform over 30+ years, this deli is in it for the long haul!
For those who are saying overpriced, obviously you have not eaten there. They give you almost triple the meat of the finest quality than any other deli. Sunday, I ordered the bodacious and was overly impressed with the size of the sandwich. Came back Monday and ordered the chef salad. Again, the presentation of the salad with the abundance of meat was second to none. Go visit the deli and decide for yourself. Do not listen to people with blind options. Highly recommend.
LOL@ "Anonymous" who's clearly shilling with the way he talks about the food.
$16 for a sandwich and fries is steep no matter how good of a quality it is. Once you add on a drink you're pushing $20 for lunch, LUNCH, at places like Clydes you can get an entire 2LB Lobster for $20.
I tried this place and I have the say I wasn't impressed for the price.
The bread was that rubbery bread you get at safeway, I doubt they are making it in house.
Waited over 20 minutes for a bowl of chicken soup and two plain sandwiches and the place was virtually empty! The soup was tasty although overly salty but the chopped liver was completely tasteless. The chopped liver sandwich came absolutely plain, not a piece of lettuce or anything else. Had to ask for some lettuce and tomato. The brisket was fatty and the fries were overcooked. Someone who seems related to the ownership was loudly chattering the whole time and with all the hard surfaces you hear every word. By the way there's not so much as a photo on the walls. They seemed astonished that we were not telling them how fabulous the food is. We will not go back, EVER!
My lunch was $19 for a side, sandwhich and a drink. I had a potato knish which was handmade but the potato and scallion filling was strange tasting. Service was slow and I think the kitchen staff needs work. Will give them another chance as they did just open and need to work the kinks out.
I just went there for lunch. It was great. On a level with the NYC delis. That potato knish was killer. Wow! Going back soon.

we had lunch and loved everything about Heckman's Delicatessen. The staff is very friendly and the food is FANTASTIC!! Go and try it out for yourself you will love it!
$11.66 for a corned beef on rye. Yeah, it's a bit expensive, and the bread was forgettable. That said, the guy who is irked that they don't make their bread in house is off his rocker - very few places make their own bread. The corned beef however was REALLY good (warm and very tender) and at least a half pound of meat. If you need to add a side and a can of soda to that then you may end up around $20, but you're eating enough calories for the whole day.
Amazingly good! Wow. Best Matzo ball soup ever. However they really need to fix and upgrade nearly all their outside patio furniture. Service was great though!
i actually like what you've acquired here, really like what you are stating and the way in which you say it. Cheers!
