CAR CRASH-RELATED HOLE IN BETHESDA GARAGE GETTING PATCHED (PHOTOS)

Somebody was listening last week, when I reported on the massive hole that remained in Montgomery County Parking Garage 40 (Cordell-St. Elmo Garage) after a car wreck four months ago. The wall is being patched up, and the space is blocked off in the meantime. A fresh coat of paint on the exterior and interior walls should leave Garage 40 looking as good as new.

How pompous can you be Dyer? (Answer: Very)

Thank you Robert and MoCo parking!

Robert isn't pompous...he isn't using the royal "we" yet. :)

We think that this is an example of the "post hoc, ergo propter hoc" fallacy.

But what we really need is updates on every time that brick wall in the 7-11 parking lot is smashed, repaired then smashed again.

That little 7-11 sign on Wisconsin Avenue at their entrance is smashed regularly and replaced as well :)

You early birds sure are a cranky bunch. I appreciate the information.

Not quite as early as you might think. For some reason the timestamps for the comments are in Pacific Time.

If you really care about a public facility or service that's broken ... just contact 311 next time. No need for public shaming. Either call 311 on your phone or tweet to @311MC311. 311 is Montgomery County government’s Customer Service Center for all non-emergency County inquiries and services.

We appreciate the info and call for action. But it is presumptuous of you to think that they only repaired this because of your calls. And you keep feeding the pundits with ammo to give your crap. Learn the people part of politics and you might have some hope yet to go with your great reporting.

There were citizens who filed official complaints about the blocked sidewalks in Bethesda with the County, and it had no effect.

If you look back at last week's article, there were no comments criticizing anybody in it. I thought this update was a positive one this morning, reporting that the problem is being fixed. With such obvious, visible damage high above two well-traveled streets, it never occurred to me that this was a problem no one in Montgomery County was aware of.

More pompous than David Alpert, Harriet Tregoning, George Leventhal, et al? Not likely.

I didn't realize 7-11 was owned by the Montgomery County Government and operated with public funds. Thanks for the snarky update, Snark Addict.

One day Bob will join us enlightened ones in the stars. Until then we will enjoy his reporting.

Robert posts a feel good news story to start the holiday weekend and he's criticised? He cant win! It was positive news folks that the garage was finally repaired. Tax monies are collected specifically for garages, so it's not too much to ask that they are maintained.

Sure the news is good. But his tone invites ridicule. He needs to inject a little more humility in his writing.

9:15 Should David Alpert, Harriet Tregoning, and George Leventhal show more humility in their communications, as well?

Absolutely. But this is about you. And as many other readers have pointed out, of course you immediately jump to compare others as your defense. This is about you. Saying "but Timmy does it too" makes youno better than them. Strive to be an adult! :)

Oh, brother! These negative comments are so ridiculous and pointless. Enough already. I don't know why this person has so much free time on his or her hands to keep writing such dumb comments. Ugh! Must have nothing better to do... Embarrassing. Might I suggest to him or her to go outside and get some fresh air? That might help to clear your head a little.

Keep on doing what you're doing, Robert! There are a lot of us who enjoy your reporting.

Who is "this person"? One imagines it is several people with different opinions and remarks about Bob

3:22 - It hasn't been "many readers," just a couple of political staffmembers/employees who are twisting non-obsequious coverage of local issues as somehow being arrogant. I'm not saying "Timmy does it too." I'm saying that the other people I referred to are arrogant in the extreme, and they are being praised in the DC-area house organs and by the MoCo Machine all the time. Traffic is up on this site, so there don't seem to be many who agree with your claim that I am arrogant. People who know me would say that suggestion is completely absurd.

Timmy most certainly does NOT "do it" and you should be ashamed of yourself for even suggesting that he does.
