Bob,
It's interesting that major demolitions are occurring at the same time on two ends of the same street
Is this a first for Bethesda?
As a life long resident of Bethesda, can you recall a similar situation in the downtown?
When do you think they will actually start construction?
I am starting to grow weary of every other house I see being torn down. First the grass gets a bit long, the paint flakes, then they set up a free standing electric meter and the next thing you know, boom, smash, crash.
I think it could have happened during the early phase of the "new" Bethesda, back in the 80s, as well as in the Bethesda Row development over a decade ago. But this is fairly typical when you have consolidation of properties into one larger lot.
COmE on BoB ... NO ONE CARES. WRITE ABOUT THE SILVER LINE!!!!!!!!!!!!
Silver Line will definitely save time commuting to Tysons from Bethesda. No more getting off at West Falls and waiting for a bus to Tysons. It is still a long and expensive Metro ride having to go downtown, transfer to Orange and head back out into VA
Fairfax county's bus system is much nicer and newer than MoCo's RideOn. Most of the RideOn fleet is quite aged. We really need to get RideOn right before buying a second separate bus fleet (BRT).
