Things are creeping methodically forward on construction of the new Giant grocery store and Westbard Square development on the site of the Westwood Shopping Center in Bethesda. After spending several weeks identifying and marking the locations of the extensive underground utilities in the area, it looks like workers have begun digging in strategic spots. Nothing much has changed at the shuttered Citgo station across Westbard Avenue, where underground fuel tanks and gas pumps have been removed.

I had to do a double take on photos 1 and 2, they looked like the results of a snowstorm.
