8000 Barber Shop is planning to move from 8000 Wisconsin Avenue down to 7830 Wisconsin, as I reported back in October. "Coming soon" signage has now been posted in the window of the future location. "7830 Barber Shop" doesn't have quite the same ring to it, but the sign reads "8K Barber Shop." It's unclear if that will be the new name, or if it simply was shortened to fit onto the sign.

Is this a sign that the long delayed twenty story high Artena mixed-use, multi-family residential over retail project at 8000 Wisconsin might be starting up soon? Not many retail tenants remain on that site.
I read that they are proposing to build 25% of their units as MPDU’s, which is an admirable feature, and allowed them to exceed the allowable building height by several stories. A good example of effective density incentives in action to achieve community benefits. I hope they get started soon, and maybe even have worked a deal to build the adjacent and fully approved 14 story high Toll Brothers project at the same time.
