Construction has begun on a new Citibank branch in downtown Bethesda. Fencing has been erected around the vacant TD Bank building at 8101 Wisconsin Avenue. The TD Bank branch has been closed for about a year. Despite the property's great potential for a fast food restaurant use, with a drive-thru arrangement already in place, we're stuck with yet another bank.

On the other hand, the place already has a vault and a section of safe deposit boxes, so another bank does make some sense. A McDonald's doesn't need safe deposit boxes.
Montgomery County doesn’t want Fast Food Restaurants in Prime Locations in Bethesda. Simple as that……..
Bethesda has 1 Full Service Fast Food Restaurant. McDonalds on River Rd. And that’s only because it was Grandfathered in and was another Restaurant before McDonalds.
I don’t count Z-Burger in the Woodmont Triangle because it’s just a Store Front Location, which they will tolerate……….
All the other Burger Restaurants in Bethesda are classified as Fast-Casual or Casual Restaurants.
1:37: There is a ban on new fast food restaurants in Bethesda, for sure. I believe Z-Burger also falls under "fast casual," because the food is made when you order it.
