Construction of the new McDonald's restaurant at 11710 Rockville Pike is nearing the finish line. The Golden Arches are now in place on the front facade of the building, as are the ordering screens in the two drive-thru lanes - which are currently blocked off with tape. Last week I broke the news that this will be only the third of the chain's "McDonald's On-the-Go" store concept to open in the U.S., with a focus on drive-thru, takeout, and delivery orders only, and no indoor dining room. That means you will be one of the first to experience the new concept outside of Los Angeles and Fort Worth, when this location opens.

Your photos show indoor seating for 4 people. Perhaps folks that walk up and order food without a car to sit in and eat?
Will MCD go back to frying in beef tallow? Asking for a friend.
I don't want to eat McD in my car, and if you take it home it will not be hot anymore. Their new model is awful.
6:30: It's probably intended for people waiting for their order to be ready.
Any connection between this and the redesigned Starbucks on Norfolk & Woodmont, which now has fewer tables (and a bigger couch, which they probably don't intend that any patron spend a long time on)?
Is Starbucks reducing the number of tables because it doesn't want table-users lingering, or because people weren't using that many of the tables recently (preferring to-go), or both?
I envision more take out places doing just this - haven't you seen the videos of ill mannered feral animals destroying the insides of these fine establishments?
