Global apparel brand UNIQLO will open a store at Federal Realty's Pike & Rose development this fall. This will be the retailer's first Maryland location, and its third in the D.C. Metro region. The 8000 SF store will be one of many new additions to the property this year, including the soon-to-open Canopy by Hilton hotel. It will be located at 11853 Grand Park Avenue.
Japan-based UNIQLO opened its first store in Hiroshima in 1984. As of today, it has more than 1900 stores in 19 markets around the world, including Japan, Australia, Belgium, Canada, China, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Russia, Singapore, South Korea, Spain, Taiwan, Thailand, the U.K. and the U.S.
The Pike & Rose location will offer jeans made from authentic Japanese Kaihara denim, extra fine merino sweaters, and some of UNIQLO's fabric innovation lines like LifeWear, Ultra Light Down and the quick-dry/anti-odor AIRism. Apparel will be offered for men, women and children.
“Pike & Rose has quickly become the retail destination for the Montgomery County community,” Federal Realty’s Vice President of Leasing Stuart Biel said in a statement this morning. “We look forward to offering the internationally popular UNIQLO brand to the Pike & Rose neighborhood, its first location in Maryland.”

Big, big, big. Looking forward to it!
6:52: I reported that a week ago. You like your news reheated in a microwave, obviously.
That's a good one. Great news!
YUUUGE breaking news out of Westwoodbard this morning!
When you want to be the first to know...
8:06: Dyer was the first to report this. Washingtonian is so much for the waiting room crowd, they haven't done a story on Dyer after all these years. They only know print media or new media endorsed by the old print media. Turn up your hearing aid, Grandpa!
6:57 AM If you reported the Westbard story like you say you did, why is the no reference to it in your archives??? Inquiring minds need to know.
8:39: Can you not read the story Dyer posted last week? It took the magazine a week to tell you the plan had changed. HOC sale has been talked about for years on this site. Nothing new. It was planned from the beginning. Just paperwork. Dyer had a good point about you preferring reheated news.
Here are Dyer's archives filtered for the tag "Westbard":

I can't find such a story either.
"Anonymous" is trying to turn this comment section into a food fight again! Suggest Robert simply delete the weird comments from the lonely anonymous man.
#UnsignedDyer is busy this morning. LOL
The Washingtonian posted their story 2 hours before Dyer did.
8:51, 8:45, 8:38, 7:24, 6:14 AM (Dyer Standard Time) = #UnsignedDyer
The same steps by the troll:
Post a bunch of weird comments
Claim they're written by Dyer
Dyer responds
Claim Dyer is "arguing" with readers
Rinse and repeat.
"You're just a boy compared to me, physically, mentally, developmentally."
Oh, Dyer... You just sound so incredibly insecure, childish and unprofessional when you post stuff like that. And hypocritical, too.
And the other bloggers trying to get attention by talking anonymously about their latest blog posts here aren't insecure!? :)
As usual, Mr. Dyer would love to take credit for information he did not report. Let's compare Mr. Dyer's report last week:
"Will density and height - the two biggest community complaints - be reduced?"
...to Bethesda Magazine's reporting this week:
"The changes seem to have dramatically scaled down the redevelopment plan, reducing the total square footage from 1.8 million to roughly 820,000 square feet."
Mr. Dyer's reporting offers questions while Bethesda Beat provides specific answers. Plain and simple.
UNIQLO coming to Pike & Rose and the Bethesda Sears is not closing. Good retail news recently!
3:12: As usual, you're full of BS. SF doesn't tell you what the FAR or height of the buildings are. The reduction of square feet could be more than accounted for by the postponement of the building/garage behind Westwood Tower on the cemetery, and the developer's late realization that Bowlmor's lease runs through 2027.
Funny that Bethesda Beef didn't tell you that "plain and simple." Now what was that about a "dramatic reduction?" LOL
10:00: You were clearly triggered by a direct and accurate analysis of your childlike mind and stature.
Yes, Mr. Dyer, you filed a report that they would be presenting a revised plan. However, Bethesda Beat reported additional details that you merely speculated about. The fact that they did not answer every conceivable potential question does not detract from this fact.
7:47 AM More quality "reporting" like the "Sears is closing" hysteria.
7:47: They don't have any details, and neither does anyone else. If you read their article, you would know it said Regency Centers refused to divulge the details, which will be unveiled at next week's public meeting.
We've all got the same meeting announcement, and it does not yet indicate a dramatic reduction - only some of the rumors out there have. People seem to forget that Capital Properties' huge project is what puts the number well over 1000 units, 3000 additional residents. Don't take out the CP buildings, HOC, and Bowlmor, and then claim it's "downsized." All of those are still in the works.
All is "speculation" until next week's meeting, old sport.
Agreeing with 7:47. Imagine the ruckus if if was the other way around.
You know what happens when you get into speculation.
It makes a SPECK out of you and some guy named "Lation."
8:05: The only "ruckus" is the barrage of fake news and rumor swirling around about the Westbard project. You seem to have missed the paragraph where the reporter said Regency Centers declined to share the details of the new plan with them. There are no details.
8:07: Yes, and when it turns out next Wednesday there wasn't an actual "downsizing," a lot of people are going to look foolish for jumping the gun.
Huh. YOU missed the information they gave that you didn't. Curious how it only works one way in your mind.
8:09: There was no "information" that was not already known. HOC sale was a done deal a year ago, I've been reporting that for several years, and I reported about the new plan a week before they did. There is no other information available right now. You seem to have unlimited time on your hands, indicating you are being paid to do this from a Council or developer office.
We'll feel sorry for you looking foolish next week...promise!
Nope, just me. Busy day working at home.
I'm pretty good at clicking between open windows.
8:23am always time in a busy day for Robert Dyer, right?
And in flies Dyer thinking his deletes and dismissal of comments will pooh-
pooh what 10:00AM said.
Not realizing it was all for naught when he makes that one little comment and proves 10:00AM correct. :chuckle:
Happy Friday!
3:37 AM
8:26AM - Dyer is a little blip in the numerous things I'm currently doing. Aside from this blog, I'm in 3 other blog conversations, messaging with family, I have an audio seminar playing, updating tax software, reading a few folks on Twitter.
Thanks for asking. What're you up to this Friday morning?
8:32 AM I'm sure your clients will appreciate your multi-tasking while working on their financials.

It's clear that 10:45 doesn't have the slightest idea how billable hours work.
It's amusing to see which posts get deleted, and which ones stay up.
Question for #DodgingDyer:
Why are comments not enabled for the post titled “Tower Cos.' Brian Abramson joins Bethesda's Sandy Spring Builders”?
I hope the Chevy Chase Collection developer does something Pike & Rose-ish.
