Resurfacing of Hampden Lane underway in Bethesda

A resurfacing project is underway on Hampden Lane in downtown Bethesda between Bethesda Row and Arlington Road. The work crew was milling the street yesterday. Watch for lane closures and flagmen. If you have a new car or are concerned about scratches, you may want to avoid Hampden Lane at the moment.

“Hampden Lane in downtown Bethesda between Bethesda Row and Arlington Road” makes no sense. “Bethesda Row” is to the south of Hamden Lane. The eastern limit of this project is Woodmont Avenue.

7:13: The Salt Line is right there on Hampden Lane.

7:21 You must be using an alternate map. What does the Salt Line have to do with it?

7:13 is right "Bethesda between Bethesda Row and Arlington Road" really should just say between Woodmont Avenue and Arlington Road.

The Salt Line is on Woodmont Avenue. The paving project is on Hampden Lane, between Arlington Road and Woodmont Avenue.

6:03: No kidding - it's also along Hampden Lane. Walk around the corner and you'll see.

5:50: Either one works fine to get the information across.

7:21: The Salt Line became relevant the moment 7:13 asserted Bethesda Row did not reach over to Hampden Lane. The many Salt Line patio diners on Hampden vigorously beg to differ!

“Bethesda Row” is an entire area extending to the south side of Bethesda Avenue. It is in no way a clear description of the eastern boundary of the construction on this one block of Hampden Lane. This is just as bad as “demolition of corner slice” earlier this week.

You still can’t read a map. You don’t even know the streets in the neighborhood. You can’t admit you made a mistake. Nobody at the Salt Line thinks they’re on Bethesda Row which is a block away.

4:43: LOL, The Salt Line is literally a tenant of Bethesda Row.

10:00: If you're struggling to grasp that resurfacing of Hampden Lane doesn't involve Bethesda Avenue, no description in the world will help. The article is very clear.

Uncle Julio’s is also “a tenant of Bethesda Row”. Yet it is two blocks south of the western end of this one-block paving project. And three blocks southwest of the eastern end. I don’t understand why you are doubling down on your inability to describe this location clearly and concisely.

Admit it, you are wrong! Bethesda Row fronts to Bethesda Ave and backs to Elem St to the north, and the alley of Bethesda Ave to the south. Your description is like saying the Hyatt is a part of the Row. OWN IT!

5:12: Uncle Julio's is on Hampden Lane? Better check that map again!

7:15: I'm right, and you are wrong. Bethesda Row includes The Salt Line, which fronts directly onto Hampden Lane. Hyatt isn't a tenant of Bethesda Row; The Salt Line is. OWN IT!

Bethesda Row, which your original post refers to, is a collection of many shops and restaurants. It is not a fixed location on a map that can be used to indicate a specific location. After the fact you added in Salt Line.

3:37: Check again. Bethesda Row is indeed a very fixed location on a map. It is a development owned by Federal Realty that sprawls across multiple blocks, and includes the top of the block of Hampden Lane referenced in the article, along which The Salt Line is a paying tenant of the Bethesda Row property.

Google Maps show Bethesda Row only on Bethesda Ave. You’re making my point that Bethesda Row is “sprawling. It’s not one fixed location. After the fact of your original post you cherry picked Salt Line to indicate Bethesda Row. Argue all you want. You’re not going to win this one in anyone’s eyes.

6:13: I've been winning this one bigly from the beginning. The Salt Line was the part of Bethesda Row referred to originally in the article, which you incorrectly disputed, claiming Bethesda Row did not extend to Hampden Lane. Now you are falsely claiming that Bethesda Row is "not one fixed location," but is also only on Bethesda Avenue (clearly false) because Google says so. You're struggling here. Only a tourist who just arrived would not be laughing at this attempt to troll.
