A big win for burger lovers in downtown Bethesda: Shake Shack will be opening a new location at 7535 Old Georgetown Road in the ground floor of the Element 28 apartment tower later this year. Signage with the New York-based burger emporium's now-familar logo has been posted in the windows of their future storefront. Imagine having a Shake Shack downstairs in your building. Element 28 residents won't have to imagine much longer, as construction on the interior fit-out appears to be underway inside the space. What an upgrade from SunTrust bank!

Wait, what's the opposite of moribund?
As a Vegetarian, I approve of this message. Love me some 'Shroom Burger!
10:23 is it mediocre, overpriced burgers, perhaps?
I wish they had gone into the old Johnny Rockets spot but will take it.
Mor-a-Buns!
I find the 'Shroom Burger super heavy and greasy. However I think their veggie patty is one of the best available anywhere.
Can’t believe they won’t open a McDonalds like the PEOPLE demand!!!
12:47 - Ya whiner...
Downtown Bethesda and the Westbard area could use a Chick-fil-A. The vacated bank properties would have worked well with their existing drive thru lanes.
you're a genius. really, really good
6:28 - I agree. Very clever.
Montgomery County doesn’t allow Fast Food in to Downtown Bethesda or the Woodmont Triangle. Z Burger only got in because they are just a Storefront Operation………..
3:19 - according to whom? Bethesda business district had a McDonald's across from our Lady of Lourdes for decades and a Roy Roger's on E-W Highway and Wisc Ave for the same.
WOW those were the good old days...
