Shake Shack opening in downtown Bethesda on June 24

Shake Shack
has set an opening date for its newest Bethesda location at 7535 Old Georgetown Road in the ground floor of the Element 28 apartment tower. The fast-casual hamburger restaurant will open June 24, 2026, according to Google. This is the second Shake Shack to open in Bethesda, with the first being located in the Dining Terrace food court at Westfield Montgomery Mall. Here's another sneak peek at the construction progress inside the downtown Bethesda store.

That'll be a great addition. Good thing is, since they've grown so much, the long lines are a thing of the past. I gotta trek to Kentlands to try Steeze Burger. Talk about long lines. Lastly, there's are some great places coming to downtown but it'll be harder and harder to pull your car over and run in. It's a real risk these days for retail to open in these high rent buildings especially now that an entire travel lane has been removed for cars. Many people will simply pass.

Robert, sorry to jump on your burger. Sorry. But major Pizza news out of Rockville. Curious to see your thoughts on it. End of a DC area iconic spot.

The emperor has no clothes? It's subjective, I know, but Shake Shack strikes me as good, but not great. The frenzied ZOMG!! mania has always puzzled me.

There is absolutely no way they are opening in 2 weeks. I love when companies like Shake Shack give unrealistic timelines and don't update them especially in Montgomery County where permitting and construction take forever. They haven't even started installing a majority of their industrial cooking equipment and that can easily take several weeks, not to mention all the testing that comes with that. I predict another article on here in July or even August wondering why they haven't opened yet.

Well-played, you!

A small family was headed there talking about it loud enough for me to hear them but I didn't feel like mentioning that it wasn't open yet.

I only eat at Shake Shack when I go to Nats games out of necessity being a vegetarian, but since someone on here previously mentioned that the psychedelic burger is way too greasy and besides that, as an Orioles fan I only go to the Chipotle fighting "teens" area when the Nationals host The O's. I can't wait until there's a real fire in that building and there are no realty paid for duty MoCo PoPo writing tickets on that side of Bethesda.

I can't even begin to piece together what ideology you have, man. Anarcho-environmento-realist?

Just a hurried typed rambling paragraph emphasizing that the Shroooom burgers are indeed greasy. Pithy, I am not. Thanks for weighing in and being cordial about it.

At least it isn't another retail bank branch.
