EmbroidMe moves to historic Wilson Store in Bethesda

EmbroidMe has moved merchandise into their new location at 4538 Middleton Lane in downtown Bethesda. Their new home is the historic Wilson Store/Community Paint & Hardware building, which was relocated to this site by 7272 Wisconsin Avenue developer Carr Properties.

The new EmbroidMe location is open weekdays from 9:30 AM to 5:30 PM. Their current 7030 Wisconsin Avenue store is expected to close after this one has officially opened. However, the new store did not yet have any signage as of early Monday evening. Their website still gives an April 1 opening date, and rebrands the business as "Fully Promoted - Bethesda." I would suggest calling the store at (301) 656-5608 to confirm they are open here before going.

The plot thickens at the Wilson Store in Bethesda

After sitting vacant for over a year, the relocated Wilson Store building suddenly has two suitors. First, owner Montgomery County announced its intent to lease the building to the County Department of Transportation as "office space."

But now EmbroidMe has declared it, too, is moving into the Wilson Store, which is now located at 4538 Middleton Lane on April 1, 2019. Its current 7030 Wisconsin Avenue location will then close.

The Wilson Store, also known as Community Paint & Hardware, is thought to be the last remaining 19th century building in downtown Bethesda. It was moved from its location next to 7272 Wisconsin Avenue to facilitate redevelopment of that property.

Custom screen printing and embroidery shop EmbroidMe has closed in Bethesda. This is the latest small business to shutter in downtown Bethesda this year.

Everything must go - including the left arm of that black office chair, apparently! The shop was located at 7811 Old Georgetown Road.
