An Olympic sized-event this Friday evening is renewing some questions about why the Bethesda Metro Center plaza has been underutilized in recent years.
This Friday at 5:30, Bethesda Olympians Katie Ledecky, Julie Zetlin and Scott Parsons will be celebrated by a hometown crowd at the Metro Center.
Longtime residents remember when the plaza was the "Acropolis" of downtown Bethesda. There was an ice skating rink, and even July 4th fireworks. Now, it is rarely used for large events.
As Bethesda prepares for Friday's event, today's question is:
Who is your favorite Bethesda Olympian: Katie Ledecky, Julie Zetlin or Scott Parsons? Cast your vote in the comments below! Voting ends at 5:30 PM Friday.
