Tonight between midnight and dawn, the Perseids meteor shower will entertain and amaze amateur astronomers far and wide.
Will Bethesda residents have a good viewing spot? Downtown, if you live in one of the rare buildings with rooftop access, that would be your best bet.
Viewing conditions would likely be better in the suburbs. Parks would be ideal, but only when they are open 24 hours.
I have seen meteor showers before in Bethesda, so it is possible.
If you're going to be up anyway during the meteor storm, you might as well check it out, and you'll soon know if it's visible or not.
Where did you watch from, and what did you see? Feel free to post your report here in the comments tomorrow.
