Chicken on the Run reopens in Bethesda after fire (Photos)

Peruvian chicken spot Chicken on the Run has reopened at 4933 St. Elmo Avenue in Bethesda. The restaurant had been closed since Saturday, March 7, when a stove fire caused damage in the kitchen.

No one cares Dyer.

Randall said...

I care. This kind of news is good Dyer. Great when he posts this kind of stuff. The other stuff we can give him crap about. :)

Anonymous said...

5:47 isn't a foodie?

Anonymous said...

I care too... and that is exactly the kind of local news I am expecting to find on a blog about local life.
Anonymous: You may not share Dyer's political views, but so far, you're useless to me, and he is not...
So go back to your den, troll...

Yes let's make sure he keeps up this good normal posting and stays away from the crazy. So let's give him some positive reinforcement here. :)

There's an appetite for Dyer's watchdog reporting on MoCo Government as well.

Dyer's the only local reporter to go beyond the press releases and ask tough questions.

Wrol said...

Eh sure that's understandable but it's the approach that's quite unappetizing for the logic minded bethesdian.

Anonymous said...

Bethesdans primarily reject crazy "anonymous" commenters.
You're not gonna get Dyer's readers, the most educated and affluent in the U.S., to read your blog by insulting Dyer with ad hominem attacks.

Wrol said...

I have a blog?

A. Peters said...

Not sure Dyer needs any help discrediting himself whenever he goes off the deep end. The straight stuff is great though! Love his blog. Keep up the good work.

nice ad hominem attack on Dyer. you've just gone off the deep end yourself. come on, you're better than that.

Love when other bloggers troll Dyer's site.

Who else is a blogger here? Other than Dyer?

probably the same guy who was stalking Dyer at public hearings. He is shy until he gets behind his keyboard on here and trolls Dyer anonymously.

Anonymous said...

Probably? Or definitely? Confusing here what you know or are just wildly surmising.

Anonymous said...

@12:04: I'm not wildly surmising.
The guy posted in detail about being in the council chambers watching Dyer testify (and made creepy comments).
He couldn't engage Dyer in conversation in person, but got real tough behind his keyboard as anonymous.

A lot of people go to these public events.

Dyer himself said hardly anyone could get a word in due to the format of the events.

How do you propose everyone comments here other than anonymous? Should we all register and use our real names? Is that your preference? Why are you anonymous also, then?

Interesting.

Dyer's shill is having a busy day.

Alan said...

Why even bother with allowing comments if you're just going to censor what you choose?

Anonymous said...

Crazy anonymous guy is having a busy day. Must be another slow news day in b-town?

Anonymous said...

Yes, Dyer's shill is crazy and anonymous. And has too much time on his hands.

"There's an appetite for Dyer's watchdog reporting on MoCo Government as well.

"Dyer's the only local reporter to go beyond the press releases and ask tough questions."

LOL, you mean...

-Beerghazi?
-Claiming that Montgomery Council President George Leventhal "tried to secede from Maryland?
-Claiming that the District of Columbia is "the War on Cars capital of the world"?
-Hilariously wrong reporting on the upgrades to the traffic signals at Old Georgetown Road and Battery Lane?
-Napping while Woodmont Avenue reopened?
-Claiming that "90% of Bethesda's food trucks have closed, and claiming that this is Hans Riemer's fault?

Anonymous said...

Alan,
Do you really want to read expletives and attacks on Dyer? Who cares if those are deleted. They have nothing to do with Chicken on the Run.

MoCo citizens wait with great expectation for the Gazette or even the other Bethesda blogs do their first investigative piece or fact check.

Follow Dyer's lead and report for once.
I know you have it in you.

Robert Dyer said...

2:23: All the points you cited on that list are accurate, with the exception of your hilarious claim that inoperable pedestrian signals are "upgrades," and your characterization of the politically-motivated garage reopening logistics as somehow my fault. Total BS. The actual residents whose kids are at risk thanks to those upgrades bodyslammed you in the comments of my article for your false statements. The "gotcha" garage opening ended up putting lives at risk, and many pedestrians were nearly hit by cars as a result. I witnessed incidents and others were reported to me. Hardly something you and your buddies in the MoCo political machine can be proud of.

Anonymous said...

@2:33 PM - LOL

Anonymous said...

2:23 PM is mocking Dyer's reports on pedestrian safety? It's no joke for folks who live in the downtown area.

Robert Dyer said...

Alan, were you in favor of leaving homophobic and libelous statements online? You're darn right I deleted them. But they're being kept on record with the rest of the offensive comments so they can be provided to law enforcement at a future date.

Anonymous said...

Oh, and @ 2:56 PM - LOL

Anonymous said...

"The "gotcha" garage opening"

You're implying that the County timed the opening of the garage just to spite you?

Anonymous said...

Where's the guy asking for Dyer's family photo album when you need him?

Robert Dyer said...

1:51: Yeah, council hearings are right up there with Redskins games and rock concerts as popular entertainment destinations for the masses. Yeah, that's the ticket.

Robert Dyer said...

3:01: I'm not privy to why they did it, but they violated the standard traffic laws and protocols to do it. There was clearly a concern about orchestrating the news coverage of it.

Anonymous said...

"your hilarious claim that inoperable pedestrian signals are "upgrades'"

It was an upgrade in progress. Guess what, the new signals have been activated since your rant last year.

Anonymous said...

Do you a link to the specific traffic laws and protocols violated?

Anonymous said...

Let's be honest, the Woodmont Ave. and garage openings were poorly handled initially.

The fact that folks continued to pay to park rather than use the new garage during the free period shows that the launch was bungled.

So, I wouldn't put the Woodmont/garage opening up there as a finest moment. Hold off on the local Edward R. Morrow award on that one.

Roger said...

Actually I was quite defending your choice. So....

Roger said...

So you don't encourage the public to attend?

Anonymous said...

Can you provide outside sources and evidence? I would love to learn more. Thanks. }

Anonymous said...

Love their chicken. Glad to hear they are back open.

Someone told me that Hans Riemer (born Hamza al-Rimmr) is shutting down clubs in Bethesda as part of his plan for instituting Sharia Law in Montgomery County.

Dyer needs to investigate this.
