HOW WOULD YOU RATE #MoCo's SNOWPLOW PERFORMANCE IN YOUR BETHESDA/CHEVY CHASE NEIGHBORHOOD?

Fabulous? Terrible? Plowed down to the pavement? Oops, missed your street all together?

Give Montgomery County's snowplow performance as of rush hour this morning a grade from A+ to F. Feel free to describe the situation in your neighborhood, as well, regarding snow plowing and road conditions.

DC Metro has been getting much more snow than it once did. Yet snow plow capabilities are stuck in a time warp from decades ago when there was a decent chance of getting little to no snow winter after winter. It's not normal to have to wait days to see the snow plow for the first time. Where I grew up, up north, there were enough municipal plows to hit Every street Every few hours while the snow was falling. And we didn't get any more snow back then than Montgomery County does now.

Neighborhood streets are still waiting for additional plowing and abrasives.

Someone is asleep at the switch this time.

Well $$$$$ is a big part of it but I think it's also what your accustomed to. If you grew up in an area where snow was rare then you become used to everything shutting down when the rare storm appears. And then when snow frequency increases you just assume it's natural for everything to shut down frequently because that's the way it's always been.

??? I would say snow removal has gotten much faster than it once was. I remember as a kid getting 2 days off from school just because it snowed 2-3 inches. Now that much snow would be removed within 6 hours or so so you'd be lucky to get one full day off.

I'm sure it has improved but when a foot hits I'm amazed by how long it takes them to get to the side roads. I'm used to side roads being plowed as the snow is falling not two days later.
