Aeropostale closing in Bethesda (Photos)

Aeropostale is closing at Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. The collapsing apparel retailer kept this particular closure secret until now; the Bethesda store was not on the list released in May, which included 2 other Maryland locations.

Everything in the store is 30-60% off with "limited exclusions" to that promise. EVERYTHING MUST GO!!! One of the rare retail closures that can't be blamed on the anti-business Montgomery County Council, as Aeropostale filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy in May. Rare, indeed - Montgomery County has lost 2141 retail jobs since 2000, according to Maddy Voytek of the Maryland Retailers Association.

I love how nearly half of this article is completely irrelevant to the closure of Aeropostale or to the status of Montgomery Mall.

Soon to be followed by Sears, and eventually by Macy's.
