New Montrose Crossing retail/restaurant building heads to Planning Board (Photo)

A 19000 SF retail/restaurant building Federal Realty has proposed, which will replace Timpano Italian Chophouse at Montrose Crossing, is headed to the Montgomery County Planning Board for review September 22. The first rendering of the building has just been made public, and is pictured above.

While the new structure will be the same distance from the property line, Federal Realty will add a 10' landscape buffer between the parking lot and the Rockville Pike right-of-way. The developer will also close one of the current internal vehicle access points to Timpano, to improve pedestrian safety around the new building.

Planning staff is recommending approval of the new building. Montrose Crossing is located at Rockville Pike and Montrose Parkway.

Good. That entire center should be redone. Terrible stores mostly. It's old and way outdated.

Hopefully they built a lot of high rise, superluxe apartment towers that are super expensive

Luckily it's only a rendering so far, no actual property for Dyer to creepily trespass on
