Afghan cuisine will soon return to the list of dining options in downtown Bethesda. Tasty Grills and Catering has leased the space at 7816 Old Georgetown Road. Their sign has been installed above the storefront, and it promises "authentic Afghan cuisine" and adherence to halal practices. Faryab was good no douubt. That stretch of Old Geo'twn looks old and awful and now with a modern day head shop on each side of the street. One of the most difficult places in town to park as well. I will say though that the Indian market there next to the old High's, looks interesting. Who doesn't want a fresh, hot samosa? Yum!
C'mon, man. Public parking deck, right nearby.
Which side of the street is this the north or south side. Good luck if it's the south side. Hard to get over there. Not as many apartment dwellers looking for take out in that area.
5:31: South.
2:35 - There's a garage in relative proximity that's true. But not as close to this restaurant as I'm sure patrons would prefer. Bottom line, that isn't good for business unless your establishment is so good that it doesn't matter. It usually does.
Guru Groceries is solid, and the samosas are definitely worth the trip.
@11:38 AM Unfortunately, their samosas are NOT fresh, they just heat up the frozen ones they buy in giant bags, which they sell also. If you do buy anything there, check the expiration date. Last time I went, an item I didn't examine until I got home had expired a year or 2 before they even opened the store.
