The former Weichert Realty building at 8003 Woodmont Avenue has been sold for $2,200,000 to Heather Giuli, according to real estate records.
This transaction is separate from the Douglas Development purchase north of the 8003 property. The square footage is modest, but the land could be valuable as either a small, boutique condo building, or to sell to an adjacent landowner for a larger development opportunity. Or the structure could be renovated, and leased as office space. The building has been in poor condition in recent years.
By the way, the acquisition of most of the block by Douglas should be a positive in getting some nice retail and restaurant tenants in the eventual development. That has been a strength of Douglas Development elsewhere in the region, and the firm is now getting involved in downtown Bethesda in a big way.
