Two nights a week, starting later this month, and concluding at the end of March 2014, contractor Miller and Long will be conducting large, continuous concrete pours at the Lot 31 construction site, starting at 3:00 AM.
The pours will create large beams that will eventually support a reconstructed Woodmont Avenue above the massive, 900-space subterranean parking garage. Those beams will also support the buildings above, hence the serious nature of this operation.
Traffic and pedestrian safety impacts require the nighttime work, as tremendous amounts of concrete will have to be hauled in to the site by truck. It is unknown how loud the operations will be, beyond the motors of the equipment involved. But Miller and Long has requested a Temporary Noise Waiver for the work. So it might be time to pick up a pair of earplugs at the drugstore, or test out your ambient/white noise machine.
Residents of The Seasons and Crescent Plaza, and the Sacks neighborhood, are the most likely to hear any noise.
