Speed bump installed on Hillandale Road in Bethesda

Cut-through traffic has only increased on Hillandale Road after the Montgomery County Planning Board's illegal road diet was implemented on Little Falls Parkway. Now the County has installed a speed bump on the road near an unsignaled pedestrian crossing by the Bethesda Pool.

Glad the county stepped up measures to bring speeds down!

This is interesting. I was on the board of Kenwood Forest which includes all the homes on Hillandale Road. Twice we asked the County to put in speed bumps but were told that two studies indicated speeds were not excessive enough (just barely). They finally agreed to narrow the road near the intersection with Chevy Chase. I wonder if the speed bump was actually put in by the MoCo park service which seemed more amenable to the idea of a speed bump. Either way this is good news.
