Theft spree in Sumner neighborhood of Bethesda
A thief has rummaged through vehicles in neighborhoods along Massachusetts Avenue in Bethesda again. Items were reported stolen from cars in the 5200 block of Belvoir Drive, the 5600, 5700 and 5800 blocks of Namakagan Road and 5800 block of Augusta Lane in the Sumner area over the night between June 9 and 10. Check your vehicle to see if any valuables are missing if you live in that area, and lock your car doors, as it appears to be an ongoing crime spree. Similar thefts were reported in neighborhoods further down Massachusetts Avenue near the District line on June 4.
