Wyrd Ryds opening downtown Bethesda location

Wyrd Ryds
is moving into the vacant space at 4825 Fairmont Avenue in downtown Bethesda. The electric scooter and e-bike sales and service company has an existing location at Old Town Center in Ashburn, Virginia. This new Bethesda showroom will, coincidentally, be right next door to Bethesda Scooters and Boards - and in Bethesda Scooters and Boards original storefront. Sign installers are working at the space today, and have applied hours and social media account information to the windows. We have to assume the storefront's most recent tenant, Psychic of Bethesda, foresaw all of this happening.

Oh no! Not a place selling electric transportation. How stupid do Elrich voters have to be not to see that oil is the future. Why do they insist on pretending that bike lanes make sense when JAC keeps reporting that his car/truck commute is more horrendous than its ever been. We need more asphalt installment businesses in MOCO

As an aside: most the bike lane nattering nabobs...(throw out to our own Spiro T., there) don't seem to factor in e scooters to the use equation: they'll only get more prevalent and more efficient and practical over time. Me thinks a great number of the bike lane detractors simply can't envision themselves using the paths and want to selfishly thwart the effort. Now, you can ger out there too!

4:22 is part of the ignorance & apathy parade. Closing lanes on OGR & LFP for less than 60/people per day each has such a huge impact. On the other hand 15% of MC residents currently own an EV with the goal of 50% by 2025 and 100% by 2035. With no plans to improve the grid, vast expansion of level 2 home chargers will have the desired effect of filling those lanes with pedestrians & bikes.

Honestly that doesn’t go far enough. We need to open up Bethesda Row to vehicles. It’s ridiculous people have to get out of their cars and walk a block or two to shop at stores. No reason cars shouldn’t be able to pull up to the front of Dolcezza and order gelato without getting out. Just make it a drive though. In fact make all stores a drive through.
