What a terrible night to be wandering the area... Montgomery County Police report that a Bethesda woman disappeared about 6 hours ago Thursday night, having last been seen leaving Little Falls Swim Club, in the Green Acres neighborhood of Bethesda.

Obviously, weather will make the search even more challenging.

Police are asking for your assistance. Here are all the details they released earlier this hour:

"Marie Elise Wilfart Tanabe, age 66, of the 5100 block of Allan Terrace in Bethesda, was last seen on Thursday, July 11, 2013 at approximately 7:30 p.m.

Ms. Tanabe is described as a white female, 5’5″ tall, and weighing approximately 155 pounds. She has short, blonde hair, brown eyes, and a strong French accent.

She was last seen wearing a burgundy and magenta one-piece swimsuit, some type of skirt, and was carrying a towel. Ms. Tanabe does not have her purse or any identification with her and is believed to be on foot.

Police and family are concerned for Tanabe’s welfare and her mental well-being. Anyone with any information about Ms. Tanabe is asked to contact the Montgomery County Police non-emergency number at 301-279-8000."
