STUDIO B ART EXHIBIT OPEN TODAY IN DOWNTOWN BETHESDA

The Bethesda Crescent building
The work of three local artists will be on exhibit today at the new Studio B, in the Bethesda Crescent building at 7475 Wisconsin Avenue. Sponsored by Bethesda Urban Partnership, the gallery will be open today from 10 AM to 6 PM (it is also open 11 AM to 5 PM Wednesday through Friday). Works by the artists are also available for purchase.

This seems like a great start for the gallery, in my opinion. Not only have they already created a few works featuring scenes from Bethesda and nearby Glen Echo, but all 3 artists' styles are well-suited to capturing the architecture of downtown Bethesda. Which makes one optimistic that we'll be seeing more such hyperlocal portraits.

Speaking of hyperlocal, artist Judy Gilbert Levey is from the neighborhood of Edgemoor, a few blocks away from the gallery. Steve Hay is an alumnus of Walt Whitman High School. And Linda Bartley Button has become a local resident after traveling the globe.
