Art events today and Sunday in Bethesda

"New York Nights" by Elena Bond
Neo-Impressionist Elena Bond will appear today, June 24, 2017, from 1:00-4:00 PM at Wentworth Gallery inside Westfield Montgomery Mall in Bethesda. Bond, who uses a palette knife to create her distinctive paintings, grew up in the Soviet Union and Germany before emigrating to America after the Cold War. Wentworth is located on Level 2, just outside of Nordstrom. The event is free to attend, and Bond's latest artworks will be available for purchase. Call to RSVP: (301) 365-3270

Tomorrow, Sunday, June 25, 2017, artists and some downtown Bethesda businesses will converge on Waverly Street Gallery at 4600 East-West Highway from 2:00-4:00 PM for ARTFUL Afternoons. Guido Adelfio of Bethesda Travel Center and Molly Lapa of Sugarfina will be on hand for an afternoon of art, travel and samples from candy store Sugarfina.

The gallery's current featured exhibit offers the encaustic paintings of Sandra Sedmak Engel.

Posted just three hours before Saturday's event started. Not exactly useful for planning my weekend.

Totally moronic comment.

Delete, delete, delete

I can only imagine if Bethesda Magazine deleted comments that were criticism. Would never see them trying to skew the story.

The small and slightly-failing magazine deletes negative attacks on them and their political allies all the time, so you don't have to "imagine." It actually happens.

All part of his anti-art campaign. Read his comments on other art show articles. He'll find a way to insult the artists. That's why some of us have an issue with him.

You do understand timeliness is an important factor to journalism, no? Stick to blogging as three hours notice is useless for planning purposes.

7:47: Yeah, I do, considering I break virtually all of the big stories first.

That stock photo of Waverly Street Gallery is craptacular. Though not quite as bad as the one for Woodmont Grill.

And everyone else has to fix them.
