Repairs on Bethesda Lane (Photos)

Bethesda Lane at Bethesda Row may be a pedestrian-only street, but it's still a street. As such, it needs repairs, as seen outside of Redwood last night.

9:38 AM = always quick with an insult. Why be nasty all the time?

Anonymous said...

Why bother being nice? Dyer finds a way to insult anyone who posts anything, whether they agree with him or not.

Anonymous said...

10:28 AM Dyer debates fine. Just leave your anonymous personal attacks off the comments. That's not asking too much

Anonymous said...

@10:59 AM

If you think Dyer is good at debating, why does he delete so much? I understand the obscene, but he deleted someone in this thread who asked why the guy who gave an analysis of his blog and bethesda beat got deleted. Also, why did he delete that analysis.

All Us Anonymice said...

I don't use personal attacks. If I disagree, I'm a liar, dumpster-diving hobo. If I agree, he still finds a way to insult me or accuse me of being associated with a group he doesn't like.

I literally just come for the comments. Robert's articles on potholes and escalators needing repairs aren't exactly groundbreaking journalism.

Anonymous said...

11:36 AM thinks people come here to read his comments.

Anonymous said...

12:42 was accidentally castrated when he tried pleasuring himself with the leaf shredder. Bad idea - I don't recommend it at all.

Anonymous said...

Looks like 11:36 wins.

The anonymous negative former blogger is trying to take credit for Dyer's surging audience by saying people are actually coming here to read his sour, negative comments.

Amazing! He'll never give Dyer credit.

Anonymous said...

Settle it, then.

Close comments on all threads.
See what happens to those numbers.

Anonymous said...

Agreed. Dyer does pretty well. Bethesda Magazine (admittedly a completely different animal) is off the charts in comparison, if I'm not mistaken.

It'd be nice to just be able to read the blog articles and not have to content with comments. Interesting thought...shutting down comments section

Blogs written by bloggers who hate Bethesda, and the people who live here, fail. One of many reasons BethesdaNOW crashed and burned.

Anonymous said...

Dyer doesn't live in Bethesda - or Rockville or East MoCo, either. He lives in Westbard.

And living in your parents' house for your entire life isn't exactly something to brag about.

Anonymous said...

Did dyer delete the guy who was talking about Alexa rank? Insecure much?

Barwood Sucks said...

Dyer creates a great forum for residents here. No need to turn comments off.

I enjoy the community here- the wit & wisdom of Roald, the crazy "anonymous" self proclaimed ex-Bethesda blogger, various councilmembers and County staff that drop in, etc.

Anonymous said...

1:57 PM Dyer has the most read news sites in the East Moco and Rockville communities. That's something to brag about!

Anonymous said...

1:57 PM BethesdaNOW was run out of a guys penthouse in Arlington, so there's that. Of course it failed miserably, even after papering downtown Bethesda apartment units with ads for his terrible blog.

"Westbard" is part of Bethesda. Bethesda is not an incorporated city. Amazing that you still can't acknowledge the simplest facts after all these years. Symptom of your mental condition?

Anonymous said...

Ouch. So true if that's the case.

Anonymous said...

Oh, no! Comments critical of Robert Dyer! Send in the Sockpuppet Army!!!

Anonymous said...

Robert,
Every road in Bethesda is under construction right now including neighborhood roads. Old Georgetown Rd is absolutely horrible. Why in the world do these crews all have to start at the same time? It's just gridlock.

Robert Dyer said...

1:57: I realize that your horrifying realization that the Silver Spring Transit Center has risen from the grave to be a $45 million albatross around the neck of Hans Riemer & Co. in the 2018 has caused you to have a psychotic episode. But being clinically insane hasn't helped, as evidenced by your crazy comments and assertions.

The topic of housing and living expenses is one I'm surprised you'd want to bring up, considering the situations of Dan Reed and some of the local reporters.

Suffice it to say:

"If you don't stop lying about me, I'm going to start telling the truth about you."

Anyone ever noticed their comments get deleted at the same time Roald and Barwood Sucks come onto the blog???

Anonymous said...

His only option is to close all comments. Let the message of his words speak to his followers, without the frustration of those pesky opposing views.

Anonymous said...

Robert, instead of taking time to delete honest comments that are critical, use the time to do more research before you post superficial stories, you thin-skinned blogger, you.

Robert Dyer said...

6:51: I do the research. That's why I'm number one in Bethesda, and the most-trusted source for local news in Montgomery County. People know they're getting the facts, instead of what the MoCo political cartel wants them to hear.

How many readers do you have?

Dyer's local news network (started with this site) is a classic case of disruptive innovation.

Apparently he's hated by the established self proclaimed local media because of it.

Robert, you remind me of the Lyndon larouche cult followers. You sound like a paranoid schizophrenic. I know you think they are "talking points" but they sound nuts. The mo county council is full of idiots for sure, but you're no better and definitely not smarter.

Anonymous said...

@Tim, this literally has nothing to do with disruptive innovation. Dyer has no market share. Market share is calculated using (Total Sales/Total Sales in Industry). Dyer has no revenue.

Unique readers is not an effective way to calculate, since most readers (myself included), read many different sources of media.

@Robert Dyer, do you have any estimate on the number of unique page visitors use your site? I am very curious. You can set up google analytics on your web pages to keep track.

Tim said...

10:34 AM Study disruptive innovation. It doesn't say the disruptor will immediately have the most market share and revenue- quite the opposite. Dyer vs. the incumbent legacy entities is a classic example of disruptive innovation. Dyer started by serving an unmet need and everything else has pretty much else happened to form.

I'd recommend a few books to read up on it, but you'll probably just insult me so I'll keep quiet.

Robert Dyer said...

9:45: I am 1000x smarter. That's why the Council slowly is adopting parts of my agenda - now proposing vehicle solutions to Legion Bridge congestion where they once said a "transit-only" solution would suffice, express lanes, Universal Pre-K, shuttle vans.

Additionally, I've been proven correct in my predictions, such as when I warned the Council not to rezone Long Branch for demolition several years ago, because it would discourage landlords from maintaining their buildings. The Council did it anyway, and last year, a building with 1000s of code violations exploded and killed 7. Damn, was I right!

So, yeah, I absolutely am better and smarter than those clowns.

Anonymous said...

No Tim, please provide the book list. I only read the Harvard Business Review article on it.

Thanks

Robert Dyer said...

10:34: I had 100% market share until the clone sites started up with some dark money from angel investors. Yet with no angel investment, my site has outlasted all but one. The small and slightly-failing magazine has the virtually unheard of luxury of almost unlimited funds in dark money, and essentially cannot go out of business for any reason. Kind of like Rev. Moon with the old Washington Times.

Anonymous said...

Tim, I'd enjoy seeing what books you'd recommend.

I've read a lot on the subject mostly from a financial services perspective. I get CNBC's annual disruptor list. I think there's been articles in Forbes or Economist and kept up with the Harvard Review guy (Chris?).

What can you recommend? Thanks!

Anonymous said...

So you are claiming that news in Bethesda did not exist prior to 2006??? That there was a 0% market share, then you came and controlled the media in Bethesda 100%

Anonymous said...

Dyer controls 100% of the market share on Westbard and Cranes! Actually that sounds like a great blog name.

Anonymous said...

Dyer is doing something right considering how many other blogs he has inspired.
Including construction updates :)

Oops, forgot. We're supposed to refer to Dyer as "that man".

Anonymous said...

How to tell 12:14 is #UnsignedDyer

Who would come to this blog and brag about other blogs "inspired" by Dyer?
Who would understand the secret message about construction updates?
Who would care about posting such a thing at all?

Anonymous said...

12:27 PM I've lost track of how many times you've accused me of being Dyer.
Dyer comments quite a bit using his name, so I don't see why he'd posted anonymously as well.
Unless you're sticking to your theory that every comment that you don't post is written by Dyer.

How many blogs has dyer inspired??? I count 0.

"I had 100% market share until the clone sites started up with some [#ArgleBargle]"

For your statement to be true, The Gazette would have had to have had zero readers between 2006 and 2015.

Anonymous said...

12:41PM - If you are not Dyer, then my apologies. After being mistakenly called the paid troll, I understand mistakes happen and how apologies are always appreciated.

Robert Dyer said...

9:52: Wrong! The Gazette was not a hyperlocal website about Bethesda. In fact, they did a very poor job covering Bethesda. Only in their final couple of years did they begin to mimic my hyperlocal coverage - but only once a week!

Anonymous said...

Dyer @ 5:40 - You're completely delusional. The entire world does not revolve around you. If your mother or siblings are reading this, I hope that they will intervene and get you the help that you desperately need.

Robert Dyer said...

6:36: If you're denying that the Gazette was not a hyperlocal Bethesda news site, published only once a week, and until they copied me in their final couple of years didn't report on restaurant and retail openings & closings, YOU ARE THE DELUSIONAL ONE, my friend.

These facts are not in dispute.

Anonymous said...

Robert, creating his own market, denying he had any competitors for a long time and still claiming he is the only news site not propped up by some angel investor.Do we need to explain again how your mom pays for your hobbies?

Robert Dyer said...

7:46: I can pay my own way. You are correct that I'm the only local news site without dark money angel investors. The real question is, who is paying for Dan Reed's hobbies?

"If you don't stop lying about me, I'm going to start telling the truth about you."

Anonymous said...

"I'm going to start telling the truth"

Does this mean that you've been lying up till now?

Robert Dyer said...

8:19: No, it just means that the more you lie about me, the more the truth about the MoCo cartel will be exposed. You better be getting yourself ready for prison.

Anonymous said...

Dyer, your envy of all these people and businesses is exhausting.
Over and over, day after day, in every thread.
Insults, threats, accusations whether veiled or direct.

An innocuous comment like @8:19 and minutes later you're threatening them with prison.

The paranoia is over the top, my friend. And to be honest, it's getting more cringe-worthy than entertaining reading your site. Do something about it before it overwhelms you.

Robert Dyer said...

9:05: "Envy of all these people and businesses." Sounds like you are the one overwhelmed. I have no clue what you're talking about, and have never expressed "envy" toward any person or business.

Yes, the troll who harrasses me on here could face 2 years in prison under federal law regarding stalking, harassment and threats, of which he has perpetrated all 3 and that's been witnessed by anybody reading this site on a regular basis.

The only thing "cringe-worthy" is the stupid commentary by our resident troll.

Anonymous said...

I did my part. I tried. I pointed it out. I warned you. If you don't want to see it, that's on you. But I can't see it and not point it out.

Dyer Talking Point #67:

"Prince of Petworth"

Anonymous said...

Lash out at me with awful names feel you must. I said what needed to be said and I stand by it.

Robert Dyer said...

2:16: You're having a delusional episode. There weren't any "awful names" in my response to your awful accusations.

11:56: Prince of Petworth indeed has trolls, although I doubt his are being paid like mine. The resident troll here is only one of two things (or both): totally insane, or being paid.

Only an insane person would spend their day, day after day, posting negative comments on one man's news site. Only insanity, or a large enough paycheck, would make the troll oblivious to the real possibility of 2 or more years behind bars in federal prison, the penalty for online stalking, harassment and threats.

Anonymous said...

Not every comment on here is from you.
That makes you the delusional one for thinking they are.
Unless they *are* from you.

You outed yourself last week when you posted the exact same comment on 2 different articles, one as you and one as "anonymous." After that, you can never go back to claiming you always use your name in your comments.

If anyone was doing anything criminal you would have done something about it long ago rather than just talking about it.

Robert Dyer said...

7:38: Every comment I post has my name next to it, unlike you, who isn't man enough to post his name.

Anonymous said...

"You isn't man enough"

You never have anything positive or encouraging to say.
You're a troll.

Anna Van Horn said...

What a silly thing to say. You know darn well I don't do personal attacks, that I have always supported your use of PST, that I'm very active in anti-bullying efforts, that I call you out on your incorrect numbers and that I defend myself against the insults you and your aliases throw at me.
I've said repeatedly that I'm up really early but usually too caught up with work in the evening to read your blog or comment.

It seems like you take the frustrations your have with others out on me.

Barwood Sucks said...

3:33pm you're bullying me. I'm not Dyer yet you continue to bully me and claim I'm him.

Anna Van Horn said...

Barwood Sucks, honey, there was no bullying in my post. Did you even read it? Is this the insulting and nasty statement? (cover the kids' eyes): "What a silly thing to say"

Now see, if *I* was Dyer that post would have been filled with insults about being a girly-man, having Low-T, dumpster diving, conspiring with politicians, colluding with national newspapers and their "policy" to not mention Dyer, and that pesky 2 years of jail time.

It seems like you also take your frustration with others out on me. Why?
