Bethesda construction update: Bethesda Porsche at Pike & Rose (Photos)
The new Bethesda Porsche dealership building is turning heads on Rockville Pike. Nearing the finish line at Pike & Rose, the new building will house Rockville Porsche, which will move down the Pike and get a name change with even more cache. The curved, modern lines of the building stand out from the typical boxy car dealership you find along the Pike. It does look like a building you might find in the former West Germany, very appropriately. At night, you can get the full effect of the lighting.

The design is mostly dictated by Porsche USA, just like they dictate it for Audi (both are owned by parent company Volkswagen). This is the new style for all dealerships, so you'll see any updated dealerships with the same design.
Also note how it's got the city name, not dealer name. For example, it's Audi Bethesda not Euro Motorcars Audi, and it's Porsche of Tysons not HBL Porsche. They want to emphasize the car brand not the dealer's brand.
What I wonder is, will they do some remodeling at Audi of Rockville now that Porsche is moving out?
I wonder if this was a concession to Rockville Audi (which also owns Porsche). They must have been royally pissed when Audi allowed Euromotorcars to open up Audi Bethesda, and that took a lot of business away from Audi of Rockville. Normally a Porsche of Bethesda would go to Euro I'd say, but instead they gave it to Rockville's owner.

8:52 AM.
Porsche is not owned by Audi...both Porsche and Audi are owned be Volkswagen...
Furthermore...
Volkswagen Group sells passenger cars under the Audi, Bentley, Bugatti, Lamborghini, Porsche, SEAT, Škoda and Volkswagen marques; motorcycles under the Ducati brand; and commercial vehicles under the marques MAN, Scania, and Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
In fact VW Group is the largest automobile company in the world...
@7:20 I meant that Rockville Audi also owns Rockville Porsche (soon to be Bethesda Porsche). So dealerships have same owner, not auto manufacturer.
I'm aware the Volkswagen AG owns them all, as an Audi and Volkswagen owner myself.
I'm confused. I thought Bethesda Porsche would be in Bethesda.
North* Bethesda Porsche.
