Shocking photos of an empty Barnes & Noble at Bethesda Row

Horror of horrors for book lovers. The shuttered Barnes & Noble at Bethesda Row has been totally cleaned out inside, and is almost unrecognizable.

Store leaves. Vacant space = shoocking

Shocking! And by "shocking" I mean inevitable.

I am shocked. Shocked am I. Am I shocked? I shocked am. Am shocked I? Shocked I am.

I would be more shocked to look inside and still see racks of books, music & videos, and people loitering inside not buying anything, just like the old days. It's 'shockingly' empty because it closed a few weeks back

The book lover in me is shocked!

What was the last book you bought here, Robert?

I'm a book lover. I'm such a book lover that I support independent bookstores, where I can buy the edition of my choice instead of the edition published by the store owner.

3:24: The last book I bought before they closed was "Hans Riemer's Wall $treet Money Machine: How An Incompetent Carpetbagger's Sugar Daddies Got Him Elected."

Oh the horror, the tragedy, the living nightmare that is a closed book store. I won't be able to sleep at night and have just called my therapist. My weekend is not ruined. How could you?

6:38: Self-proclaimed "Hans Reimer supporter" using the R-word in 2018. You heard it here, folks! The voters will remember in November.

How many voters actually read Dyer's blog?

Robert Dyer said...

7:07: Thousands.

I should write a book. Will any of you characters recognize yourself?

10:11 AM A book about Dyer's haters and trolls. Will be a best seller for sure.

In all seriousness, what's shocking? They announced a closure. They closed. Someone else wants the space and so they're renovating. Did we not expect a big empty space with renovation stuff?

What am I missing?

These shocking photographs are a stark visual representation of the current state of affairs of Bethesda, and Montgomery County at large.
