Downtown Bethesda's ASHP named a top workplace in America for 2022

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists has been named one of the top workplaces in America for 2022 by Energage. Using research, data and employee surveys, Energage determines the top workplaces in the nation each year. ASHP is located at 4500 East-West Highway, and if you've lived here more than a few years, you may remember they were previously headquartered in the Apex Building (R.I.P.) at 7272 Wisconsin Avenue.

This is not the first time the ASHP has been recognized as a top workplace or employer. Previous honors were presented to the organization by Modern Healthcare magazine and The Washington Post. But with this award coming in a survey both national and covering all professions, ASHP CEO Dr. Paul W. Abramowitz said this recognition is particularly gratifying. “It is a significant honor for ASHP to be recognized as a top workplace on a national level,” Dr. Abramowitz said in a statement this morning. “We are proud to have created a workplace culture based on inclusivity, innovation, and collaboration, which allows us to provide our members with exceptional resources and tools to advance pharmacy practice and patient care.”

The ASHP represents pharmacists who serve as patient care providers in hospitals, health systems, ambulatory clinics, and other healthcare providers. It currently has over 60,000 members, including student pharmacists and pharmacy techs.

Robert, I think ASHA, not ASHP owned the Apex Building as its HQ and later moved to a new campus in Rockville on Research Blvd.

Cy, no, it was definitely ASHP who owned the Apex Building. Remember the hype the County put out about a group of pharmacists holding the fate of the Purple Line in its hands?
