Urban Heights adds a new touch of Asia to its restaurant (Photos)

Urban Heights, the new rooftop restaurant from Chef Robert Wiedmaier's RW Restaurant Group, has added flags to the exterior. Can you identify the flag? It looks like the flag of the Qing dynasty, the first national flag of China. Chef Cliff Wharton is known for his pan-Asian cuisine, and the cocktails of Garth Hamilton continue the theme.

Urban Heights is located at the corner of Norfolk and Cordell Avenues in Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle.

It is Qing, yes. Specifically, it's the version of the flag that they adopted at the end of the 19th Century up to the revolution in 1912.

Haven't walked by in a while. How's the Smashburger smell in this heat?

@ 7:23 AM - the Stinky Ventilator seems to be a lot less stinky in the past few months. It looks like they actually did something there.

Urban Heights also added a yellow dragon scale pattern on top of their 2nd floor windows, color matching with the flag.

They are dying a slow death there. It is virtually empty 5 days a week and not too busy on weekends. These flags are to help folks notice the place.

Like a fat girl in a milkshake shoppe, they are grasping for straws...

It's because Dyer said their Filipino food is South Asian. No one knows what to make of it.
