Follain posts Coming Soon signage at Bethesda Row (Photos)
Just one day after I broke the news about Follain opening at Bethesda Row, the non-toxic skincare store has posted Coming Soon window screens. The store will be located in the former Calypso St. Barth space at 4810 Bethesda Avenue.

Well, this kills Dyer's treasured talking points about "attaboys" and "fawning coverage in the legacy local print media".
11:46 — You realize the author of this very blog claims that August 2016 was the “coldest in his lifetime” (it was actually one of the warmest), and that last January’s average temperature was “far below” normal (it wasn’t)? Mr. Dyer’s grasp on basic facts is tenuous at best.
Please stop using terms like “helpless” to describe your competition. Stop acting like a 12 year old. Please stop using the term “moribund” to describe your perception of our economy. Show us that you can articulate your thoughts and political stance without repeating the same deragatory comment over and over. Pick up a thesaurus and find a new way to make your argument. Of course you can point out perceived flaws, but do it in a thoughtful way. If you want anyone to take you seriously, you need to grow up, and become more articulate, and stop slinging this same stuff at us.
1:35 PM What are Hans' accomplishments? He was speechless when Bethesda Magazine asked about specific accomplishments for economic matters. What is this man doing all day that he couldn't answer a basic question?
Hans should be fired for that performance. The other at-large candidates should take the gloves off and go negative on this council.
Kudos to Metcalf for pressing during the interview and posting a compelling write-up. I didn't think Bethesda Beat had it in it to go after a council member like that.
If Hans thought that was a tough question, I'm looking forward to the debates. Dyer may have Hans pee his pants again (see MyMCMedia debate from last cycle).
Robert, did you actually ask Riemer any questions yourself, or did you let the old legacy print media do all the hard work of journalism while you cowered in the corner?

The Reimer post is such a sad attempt at a hit piece. As usual, #DistortingDyer has twisted the facts and presented a very slanted view of reality. Let’s consider a few examples, starting with Dyer’s references to “cue cards” and “flash cards.” Reimer had neither. He’s got notes on statistics. In other words — President Reimer came prepared. We’re meant to fault him for this? It’s true that there were moments when he seemed to gaze towards his notes while he was thinking about his responses, but if you watch closely it’s clear this is more out of habit. There’s nothing “frantic” about any of it.
Is Reimer the most charismatic speaker I’ve ever seen? No, but he’s far from the worst. He is composed, measured, and careful. On the other hand, is it ironic that Robert Dyer should be criticizing anyone’s public speaking skills? I’ll leave that up to you, readers.

Riemer responded to a reporter who challenged him to cite a specific error in the Sage Policy Group report
He was not asked about errors — he was asked what is “not true.” And he answered the question confidently, describing selective use of data.

Asked when Montgomery County opened dialogue with Discovery Communications after it was known they were considering relocating from Silver Spring, Riemer replied, "I don't have that information." In other words, there was no dialogue.
Try not to hurt yourself with that stretch, Robert.

You claim Riemer "came prepared." LOL. Multiple articles have been written about the fact that Riemer was woefully UNprepared at this press conference. He has no grasp of any topic, and desperately turned to cue cards and an apparently out-to-lunch staff for answers that were never found.
Even a gorilla can count how many times Riemer frantically scanned the cue cards on the table in front of him over 30 minutes.
Humiliating, much like your desperate spam defense of Riemer, most likely typed in his office.

Why is it that people who work in Northern Virginia are so eager to live in Montgomery County?:
