Despite the WSSC
working on the ongoing water leak on River Road at Landy Lane in Bethesda a week ago, the situation was actually worse than ever Thursday. Not only was the standing water near the Capital Crescent Trail at a new high and width for a non-rainy day, but a new leak has sprouted up in the right lane of westbound River Road at the bridge. A small geyser was bubbling up out of the pavement, and the WSSC was nowhere to be found.
This could wind up being a major catastrophe if the main blows like it did further out River Road in 2008. The Montgomery County cartel will have to take responsibility for the current situation, and anything worse that happens beyond this if the leak is not fixed.

Making an ocean out of a puddle. This is not the same main as the 66" main that ruptured in December 2008. If you had talked to WSSC, they could have told you this.
Also, there is no such thing as "the Montgomery County cartel", and WSSC is run jointly by Montgomery County and Prince George's County.

Correct. The 66" distribution line goes southeast along River Road, then turns east on Goldsboro Road then bears northeast towards the Beltway at the Mormon Temple.
The overgrown puddle Robert Dyer saw at River Road and Landy Lane on his latest 3 AM wandering was 1.2 miles from the closest point of the 66" main. The water main under this part of River Road is between 12" and 24" and operates at lower pressure.
8:57: I never said it was the same line. Contrary to your belief, all mains are under pressure, even if they are not as large.
I saw the new leak and standing water at 7 PM last evening, not 3 AM, old sport.

This is leak has been non stop for over 6 months...
