The more things change, the more they stay the same at 4823 Fairmont Avenue in Bethesda's Woodmont Triangle. While there's been a tattoo parlor on the second floor there for years, the names and owners seem to come and go. Tattoo Haven gave way to Coalition Tattoo. Now Black Flamingo Tattoo Collective is the name of the game. Its signs have just been installed on the building, although it appears to have been operating under the Coalition name for about a month, based upon the Google reviews (which give it 5 stars out of 5).

11:16 - I've lived in Bethesda all my life and have never, ever seen one until Robert mentioning this one and another across from Bethesda Florist. What are the tattoo parlor's names, where are they located? You state they've been in downtown Bethesda for years. When was the first one opened?
More pet shops than pot shops.
I forgot those. You're right. Yet another one Robert just reported on opening in a luxury condo building on Cordell I believe.
I'm a tattoo enthusiast so I try to keep up with this kind of thing having had to have traveled near & far just to get inked BITD, but have chosen specifically to not use any of these new loca convenient shops on principle. That said, there was a shop (the first one "here" that was across the street from the old Tommy Joe's behind the original Mica Schist Stone old Post Office. That one moved to the second floor above a market essentially across the street from Harris Teeter and is still open.
I’m with JAC on this. “For years” may encompass the under ten years you’ve known the area, @11:16, but until *relatively* recently, Bethesda had none. At least, none my family was aware of in the more than eighty years we have called Chevy Chase home.

Bethesda Tattoo has been around for awhile and historically has been well regarded.
Tattoo parlors are probably the second or third oldest industry, and tho I'm not a fan begrudgingly give them some respect. They're expensive, get inspected, likely pretty 'self controlled,' in that reputation is everything, etc. 7 -11 clientele probably pose a bigger 'threat,' if you will. Its smoke and paraphernalia shops that cater to mind altering cheap products and some popular athletic shoe places that pose far bigger issues.

It's fairly easy to look these things up. Bethesda Tattoo (which I don't think I've ever noticed) has been in business since 2005. Tattoo parlors have not been operating in downtown Bethesda for years. Less than 20 in fact.

Only one establishment, so far, has to hire off duty po-po (I hope we're not paying for special services!l. They park their car about 3 or 4 doors away from the corner establishment. Already things are deteriorating right at the trail head with Paul being paper shuttered and Chopsticks not very aggressive at looking open for bidness.
We are deteriorating in many ways not really associated with Tattooing.
You mean 'Chop't?' I think...yes, it looks out of business too if no one is going in and out. Lots of new litter, gum, and panhandling at the CCT trailhead there now.
