White Flint McDonald's construction update (Photos)

Here's a look at the progress on the new McDonald's restaurant at 11710 Rockville Pike in White Flint. New and improved, as this one - unlike the McDonald's that just closed nearby - will have drive-thru service. You can see the two drive-thru windows on the south side of the building now. Fast food restaurant construction is often measured in days or weeks, rather than the months this one has been. Another unusual aspect of this? I've never seen Home Depot protective wrap on a project like this before.

Just drove past it. Interior looks small. Loos like they are going to rely on drive through. Not across from metro as old one was.

Construction measured in days or weeks! Where do you get that statistic from?

It looked like one could punch thru the walls, especially the south facing one. Interesting, must be to code tho.

1. Direct observation over the years.
2. Typical construction time for a McDonald's restaurant is four to five weeks, with many elements pre-fabricated off-site in advance.
3. McDonald's once did a demonstration of 24-hour construction of a restaurant in 1998.

Nothing had to cure even back then? Drywall mud needs to harden, paint needs to dry etc, etc.

Supposedly this is a whole new design that they recently started on their restaurants.

There is no doubt this is Primarily a Drive-Thru since it is so small. They undoubtedly saw how much business their River Rd Location is doing on Drive thru and that motivated this new build……….

This will not do. Being near the Bethesda North Metro Station, and on a major bus route, much more SEATING will be needed. A Drive through is fine, but most of the population in that area, will be walk ins.

When is the anticipated date of opening? I am eager to visit anytime! I'm tired of eating popeyes.
